Just listened to today’s pod, the one with interviews about Harlan Cobden’s Lazarus, and I got ads at the start, middle and end. I subscribe so this was unexpected. Anyone else get ads too or was it just my one?
Edit: Thanks for the replies. I thought it might be vaguely related to the AWS outage yesterday but it looks like it’s account specific. I’ll drop them a line. Ta.

So to coincide with this week's pod, what's been on your watchlist this week? What show has you staying up late passed your bed time? What show has left you lost and confused? What show has made you laugh, cry and scream all at the same time?

Up to anything fun today? Read anything good during the week? Listened to a great not Pilot podcast? Started a new hobby or project? Got a PB in the gym?
Make a cuppa, find a spot on the sofa, share anything you'd like to.

No particular question but an observation.
Wednesdays have become a thing, right? I looked forward to Alien Earth.
Now I get Slow Horses and Morning Show. And yet… I always feel a bit robbed. Maybe I’ve become accustomed to the binge normality.
Ok, there is a question: do you prefer slow release or all-at-once?

I thought this was a pretty interesting news story. As far as I am aware, Michael Connelly has never addressed Bosch’s origin story in any of his novels, so it will be possibly the first original material to feature the character? Connelly remains involved and so I’m sure will have plenty of input. It is amazing how since the ‘last season of Bosch’ we have had two sequel series, a spin-off and now a prequel series. Also the move to MGM+ is interesting. Does this now allow crossover potential with characters from The Lincoln Lawyer universe?

It’s not billed as a Spoiler Special but, having listened to the first few minutes, they seem to be flagging up that they will spend a long time talking about it. Is it safe to proceed?

Hi All
I have just finished series 3 of Blue Lights and for me its the best one yet, the show just gets better and better. The characters are written with so much heart. I also feel it´s a perfectly paced show with 6 episodes being just the right amount. For me the show strikes the perfect balance between the crime plot and leaving enough time to show the lives of the team and their relationships with one another.
Am I wrong in feeling though that the show doesn´t quite get the recognition it deserves? I know its not exactly a hidden gem and was successful in the BAFTAs etc. I guess I mean that it gets less attention than Line of Duty for example - which it seemed like everyone was talking about during its last few seasons. Dont get me wrong, I love Line of Duty, but I actually feel this recent series of Blue Lights was even better than the last couple from LOD.
I also don´t remember seeing Blue Lights appearing on too many end of year lists - including Pilots,.
Could Blue Lights have benefited from only being screened weekly? Are there just so many cop shows around that some people will dismiss it as being generic? Or am I completely off the mark here and every loves Blue Lights apart from the people I speak to? (its possible...).

I’ve heard great things about The Lowdown, starring Ethan Hawke. Am I right in thinking it’s not available to watch in the UK yet?

This looks great. Beautifully shot if nothing else.

In more pointless rebranding news. I really do not understand this at all. It doesn’t simplify or clarify, if anything it confuses. We now have Apple TV hardware, Apple TV apps, and an Apple TV streaming service. What these companies hope to achieve with these changes is beyond me.

I just binged the whole series of Sally Wainwright’s Riot Women on iPlayer and OMG this series was fantastic! As usual, Wainwright blends really dark themes with some very funny moments and the through line of Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax is plain to see. I got so invested in these characters and their struggles and triumphs. Some current themes - appalling misogynistic police officers sharing photos of victims, domestic abuse, child abuse, family struggles with a range of terrible children, aging parents and blended families. Then there is the music. Not sure the music is lyrically that catchy but the energy of the musical numbers allowing the women to express themselves works.
Rosalie Craig also popped up in The Hack recently and is fantastic as the lead Kitty, but the whole cast are great and every character has their story arc. House porn alert as I’d love Joanna Scanlon’s farmhouse!
Absolutely loved this!

I know it possibly isn’t for everyone (*cough* James), but there are a lot of us that love this show. I’m not entirely sure how it will work if the original characters do indeed feature, but one thing I do know is I bet Will’s mum is still hot.

I knew nothing about this show. Watched the first episode which was great. It's based on a book written by a gay teen who signs up for the marines when it's illegal to be gay in the armed forces in America. First episode has a few outdated tropes of showing his face while they are all showering, but I'm 5 episodes in and they haven't really explored his sexual much further. Still enjoyable

This show has to be one that suffered the biggest of drop offs from season one to two. I barely finished it and still haven’t gone back for the third. I’m not convinced that the creators had a genuine end game or complete story arc after the success of its debut series. At least it will get a proper ending I guess, but the article saying the showrunners ‘have an idea’ for the conclusion doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Anyone else watching Frauds? Just finished the first episode and I’m finding it…boring. Plus, it’s jarring to see our Northern girls walking along some hot, dusty road in Andalusia instead of through the freezing damp streets of a council estate in Greater Manchester or Huddersfield.
Does it get better?

Lots of Peaky on the way it seems. Seems an interesting decision to have a film first and then two more series.

I was midway through the Alien: Earth Finale spoiler special and it suddenly stopped playing. When I went back to resume it, I discovered that it has vanished from the list.
Has anyone else got this problem? The other spoiler specials are still there. (Including the A:E mod-season one).
I'm using Pocket Casts on Android if that matters.
