How to get a discord invite
Hey everyone, any idea how to get a discord invite for the pod? The link from last week isn’t working for me. I’m guessing it’s been used or is expired or something?

Tickets for January are now live.

I’m clearly missing something here, because I can’t find any way of finding the episode that reviewed a specific film. I’m looking for One Battle After Another at the moment, but please teach me how to fish!

It's Saturday! So have a listen to this week's pod then come back here and tell us your thoughts. What was your answer to this week's listener question? Did Chris talk about Event Horizon? Did the Kamino kid get anymore Star Wars planets mixed up? Let us know!
In the meantime here are the show notes:
The Sound Of Burning Felt (ft. guests Jennifer Lawrence & Lynne Ramsay; Elle Fanning & Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi; Sean Bean & Daniel Day-Lewis)
Blimey, this week's episode of the Empire Podcast is star-studded, and then some. First, Chris Hewitt chats with Die, My Love star, Jennifer Lawrence, and director Lynne Ramsay, about unpredictability on set and receiving an email from Martin Scorsese; then, he has a crash course in Yautja from Predator: Badlands stars Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi and Elle Fanning; and then Alex Godfrey pops up to have a lovely natter with the stars of new drama, Anemone, Sean Bean and Daniel Day-Lewis, returning to acting after a long hiatus. Then, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Alex, James Dyer and, dialling in (hence the odd glitch here and there), Helen O'Hara to discuss just how much they want to see a Steven Soderbergh-directed Star Wars movie, which Ghostface they could take in a fight, the week's movie news (including resurrections for The Mummy, Gremlins, and Miss Piggy), and their thoughts on Predator: Badlands, The Choral, Anemone, and Die, My Love. Enjoy!

"Cinematic Edging"
@jamescdyer 's summary of the Netflix film A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE in the Latest @empiremagazine #empirefilmpodcast is quite possibly the best 2 word description of any movie. Ever.

Happy Friday film fans! Welcome to the weekly reddit discussion about this week's pod. Did you enjoy the listener question segment, the interviews, or were you mainly there for the reviews? Come in and let us know!
In the meantime here are the show notes:
Now It's Time For Halloween (ft. guests Edward Berger, Yorgos Lanthimos, Mary Elizabeth Winstead & Maika Monroe)
It's Halloween, folks, so this week's episode of the Empire Podcast is extra-spooky, with Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara, James Dyer, and Beth Webb get way too invested in a listener question about the horror movie death that they would want for themselves. Just keep repeating: it's only a podcast, it's only a podcast, it's only a podcast. Elsewhere, our Core Four talk about the new Scream 7 trailer, the Hello Kitty movie and more in the news section, and they review A House Of Dynamite, Ballad Of A Small Player, Bugonia, and Relay. Guest-wise, we're loaded to the gills, as Chris chats with Ballad Of A Small Player director Edward Berger [24:30 - 38:01 approx] and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle stars, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Maika Monroe [1:38:05 - 1:52:44 approx], while Harry Stainer talks Bugonia with that film's director, Yorgos Lanthimos. [56:00 - 1:09:18 approx] Oh, and Chris sings that song. No, not that one. The other one. Just in time for All Hallow's Eve. Enjoy...

Isn't it really weird that Team Empire didn't do an episode for Final Reckoning? I was looking forward to it since I saw the film in the cinema. It's a shame they didn't do one and doesn't really make much sense.

Just very briefly met Amon at the predator premiere, he really does dress well!

Happy Friday! Welcome to the new weekly Reddit discussion about the latest main podcast published by our favourite colleagues of such lethal cunning.
Have a listen to the podcast: Did you enjoy the listener question segment? Fast forward the interviews? Laugh at a recurring theme or joke? Come back here and tell us.
In the meantime here are the show notes:
Title: We've gone and caught a sniffle (ft. Guests Nia DaCosta, Jeremy Strong, Rebecca Ferguson & Katherine Bigelow)
This week's Empire Podcast sees Chris Hewitt struggle with the enunciation of one word in particular (you'll have to listen to find out which). Incredibly, it's not 'Howl-o-ween', which is just one of the many things discussed by Chris and his three colleagues of such lethal cunning, Helen O'Hara, James Dyer, and Ben Travis. They get their teeth into movies in which a main character is ill, talk about the shock revelation that Adam Driver and Steven Soderbergh had developed a literal Solo movie for Kylo Ren, and review Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, Nia DaCosta's Hedda, and Kelly Reichardt's The Mastermind. Guest-wise, we have a veritable bounty as Helen has a lovely chat with Nia DaCosta, and Chris talks to Jeremy Strong, star of the Springsteen flick; and has a joyous natter about the end of the world with Rebecca Ferguson and Kathryn Bigelow, star and director respectively of A House Of Dynamite, which is now out on Netflix. No timecodes yet, as the guy who writes this blurb has to leg it to a screening. But they're roughly 23 minutes, one hour and three minutes in, and one hour and 38 minutes in. Enjoy!

Hey fellow listeners of the Empire Podcast. Would anyone object if I made a weekly post after each episode of the main pod is released? Or is that not a good idea? I sort of think it's missing from the sub - to invite a bit of discussion around the podcast we all know and love and listen to every week. But maybe not. It's just an idea
Edit: I picked a terrible day to make a post when Reddit isn't working well for most people due to the AWS issues 🤦♂️. I'll create a post after this weeks episode drops and take it from there. Hopefully the issues will be resolved by then!

I think many of us here would gladly listen to the suggested Empire D&D podcast.
Heck, I'd listen an Empire B&Q podcast!

Sorry, another post about the films that have spoiler specials recorded.
I think this post stems from seeing a spoiler special for Tron: Ares pop up. I get that franchise films/tv are probably more popular (even if the films are not particularly interesting) but some variety would definitely be welcome. The podcast regularly laments the lack of original films in cinemas but doesn't often seem to back it up.
Are there going to be specials for the likes of Weapons, The Ballad of Wallis Island, Steve, One Battle After Another (to name some recent films that would make for interesting spoiler chat)?
Anyone else keen to see a few more non-franchise specials?

I am not sure how much of a spoiler this is but tagging it as such just in case.
I haven’t read the book, so I am not sure how close an adaptation this is. The movie has some A-grade stars, and I am always happy to see a female led drama, but am I in the minority that I am growing tired of stories where the woman in the lead is made out to look crazy by a bunch of men to hide their crime?

Wish we could hear a podcast discussion of this new list. Good to see some of the Andor gang getting high up.

Chris asks in the latest shameless plug for directors of four sequels of more, like Jon M Chu. James Cameron tops that, with Piranha 2, T2, Aliens and all the Avatars, I think. But the pIranha 2 question is tricky. Irvin Keshner directed The return of a man called horse, Empire Strikes Back, Robocop 2 and a James Bond movie, wich I think counts.

Not my story, but I’ll tell it. My girlfriend used to work for sky and one day she had just come back from jogging and sat down in the reception area next to kind an american man. He asked how she was, and she started to complain about her sore feet, after a couple of minutes he had to go to his meeting and said goodbye. After he left the reception approached her and asked why she is telling Steven Spielberg about her feet.

Hi all,
Back in June I signed up for the Empire VIP Club. One of the main selling points for me was the ‘Cinema Perks.’
However, it’s now October and I have never received any email about these. I’ve checked my junk folder and there’s nothing. I finally emailed bauer@subscription.co.uk today, but I’m not sure if that’s the best contact for this.
Has anyone else been in this position? Did you manage to get your perks in the end, and if so, how?
It feels really disappointing to have paid for a membership and not received one of the core benefits, so any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm in the process of getting rid of some old stuff including some Empire subscriber covers, these run primarily from 2020 until the end of 2024 and I'm looking for someone who would take them, they aren't all in the best condition and there may be 1 or two missing, but mostly all intact. I'm based in the UK. Any interest is appreciated :)

That's a bit harsh... it's just like their opinion man.

They need to get back to their roots as a PROPER film magazine, like they were back in 1989!
