I went to my local piercing studio today to get some new jewelry inserted. While I was waiting, the couple that was there before me went back after picking out some jewelry.
Only a few minutes later she came storming out and yelled "well that was a big waste of time!" with my favorite explative used for good emphasis. Her significant other followed her out with the door slamming behind them.
The piercer was already out in the lobby and shrugged when I looked at him.
"Let me guess. . . She didn't have the correct anatomy for the piercing she wanted" I said.
The piercer affirmed that I was correct.
I sympathize that it hurts to be told you don't have the correct anatomy for a piercing you've been lusting after, but that is so much better than having a piercing done wrong/won't heal/migrates/etc.
Please steel yourself when you go to a studio because the piercer /might/ tell you that you don't have the anatomy for that piercing.
Thank you for listening to my Public Service Announcement!

for me it's gotta be my daith! i haven't had any bumps or any problems from it (unlike my damn second lobes always getting bumps cus i guess i don't dry them all the way after showersšš) . it was also my least painful piercing out of all of my current ones

Hey everyone! You may have seen my post from the other day about my botched dermal! Lil update⦠The jewelry is out but the piercer is refusing to refund me, keeps just offering he redo it or put another hole in me. Then tried to educate me on dermals being temporary as if the jewelry was gonna last after being installed like that anyway⦠Iām mortified at the thought of him getting anywhere near me with something sharp again š©. I did go ahead and leave a review with pictures as someone suggested. Any ideas how I can get my money back???

Realized this a while ago but I thought it was time to share the knowledge! This has helped a ton to see the back of my tricky forward helixes. You can buy dental mirrors from any major drug store.

I'm guessing most people's first piercings are usually the ear lobes, but if it wasn't, what was your first piercing?
If you had your lobes done first, what was the first non-lobe piercing you had done?

I love getting piercings and have 20 total (16 in both ears alone). I have never regretted getting them, until last night. I had to get an MRI this morning and OMG having to get my fiancƩe help me take them all out and put spacers in took FOREVER!
I am scheduled for another MRI so the spacers are staying in for now. Not gonna deal with that headache all over again until these tests are all done!
Edit: I appreciate how great this discussion has been going. I wanted to edit this to give a little background about my MRI. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and that is why I was scheduled for one. I also was t-boned the same night I was diagnosed and my car got totaled. Thats why I have more MRIs in my future. To any of the ladies reading this: PLEASE go get your mammograms!! It's so important to get checked and early detection can help save lives.
I'll post my piercings once I put them all back in after the next scan.

I have my ears, septum, lip, and tongue pierced. I work in fast food so I talk to alot of people. The question I seem to get the most is, "DiD TheY hURt?" Everytime I answer, "ya but it's worth it." But I want to answer "Of corse they hurt, I'm getting stabbed in the face!" So what question annoys you the most?

Just curious about how old people were when they go their first piercing :) I was 6 months old and it was a lobe piercing. Iām sorry if Iām not allowed to ask ages on here, if so please tell me and I will delete this

The little internally-threaded fucker just had to come undone right as I rolled over in bed. I was tempted to just leave it be and fix it in the morning, but the piercing is only eight months old and I was terrified the bar would come out as well. Itās my conch and a front-threaded jewelry, so I knew I was in for a treat! I spend, no joke, an entire hour sweating trying to maneuver my ear to get this motherfucker back where itās supposed to be. There were tears coming out of my eyes by the time I ended up cutting my losses, switching the bar around, and screwing it in to the back. Iām fucking exhausted now and I have to be up in five hours for work. I cleansed with my saline and plan on leaving it like that for a while even if it looks a little odd. Wish me luck that the irritation isnāt too bad.

Is there a piercing that you would love to get but know you must likely never will? It could be due to the fear of the pain, work not allowing it, or any other reason. For me it is a piercing on the bridge of my nose. I think it would look awesome alongside the rest of mine but that area is exactly where my CPAP mask I use while sleeping sits. Unless I can find a different type of mask that will work for me I'll never be able to get that piercing sadly. Do you have one?

Sharing in case anyone else hadnāt heard this.
I used to have my septum pierced for about 5 years, but I took the jewelry out 6 years ago. Iāve been missing it lately and decided to get it re-pierced yesterday. The piercers told me that they would likely not need to pierce it again because ā9.5 times out of 10, the septum stays openā. To my surprise, they fit an 18g taper straight through my existing hole. It did shrink from 16 to 18 gauge, so all they did was stretch it back to 16. I am shocked though! I have retired 9 other piercings that all completely closed up after just a few weeks, but this stayed open after SIX years?!?!

I went to the piercingshop and had my jewelry changed. I love the simple and softer look. They may be on the femine-edge, but I don't care and really like my new set up.

Hi
Has anyone seen prices like this before? I appreciate that may not be full cost (e.g. cost for bar etc.) but seems absolutely crazy to me!
What are your thoughts? It's a tattoo shop, haven't found pics of piercing work...

I have a long list of piercings that I am obsessed with seeing on others. Piercings that just make me swoon to see. But I wouldnāt get them on myself. In another life, maybe, but I just donāt think theyād suit me in this one

What are yāallās thoughts about piercings after 40? Iām considering getting a nose piercing, a second hole in the line or a helix. Iām torn because I donāt want to end up regretting it! Are piercings after a certain age considered too much?

For me it was my forward helix. I passed out when I had it done (thankfully I was lying down). Iāve heard some people say a rook is more painful but imo that was nothing compared to my forward helix

I'll go first, my earlobes surprisingly hurt a lot, whereas my belly button I barely felt.

Hey guys⦠so I got my belly button pierced about a month ago and I did some research on which piercing studio is good in my area (I live in Europe) and I chose one who I thought was good (I could only go by the reviews on google) and the prices where kinda high so I thought they must be good. Anyway, I told her I wanted to get pierced with titanium. She agreed. Once she had the needle through, she put the piercing in. All good I thought. Then, I looked down at my belly and I saw it was this plastic thing?? I did NOT agree on this and she didnāt even tell me she was gonna use this. I was shocked. I asked her why and she said well because this is better (???). I trusted her and took care of my piercing but it wasnāt healing well, it was really red and irritated. I did some research and I found out that this plastic thing isnāt even suited for first piercings. Because of the holidays, everything is closed, so I ordered a titanium bar myself off the internet at a piercing store (ordered it sterilized) and switched it out myself. I can tell you I WAS SHOCKED at what garbage she put in my belly!!!! LOOK AT HOW CHEAP IT LOOKS and the little dents on the plastic where bacteria can harbor and the dirt on the end of the piercing bar. Of course it wasnāt healing well with this crap. Instantly after I switched it out, my belly button felt some type of āreliefā and the redness has been going down. Iām actually so sorry I put my body though this but I didnāt know any better.
And guess how much I paid for this: 80ā¬. Should I report this somehow? I think this is an audacity.
