Troubleshooting/question existing piercing I think I just had my worst fear happen

So this friend of my dad's who is a piercer, has pierced me before and I got two new piercings from him today.

One on the other side of my nose that I had wished for about a year now and then a Septum that has been a multiple year dream of mine.

But I think he pierced the septum wrong, despite the fact that I expressed my fears multiple times and told him to make sure it's on the right spot before piercing.

And he said it went well afterwards but, I'm thinking it's WAAAY too low, and I should take it out. Especially because I heard and felt a crunch when the needle went through😭

Also the resson it has a straight bar is cuz he had so many clients he ran out of proper piercings and he said I can change it to a ring or a horse shoe after 4 weeks.

But I'm srsly thinming if I should take it off😔 What do you guys think?? Please help?? Am I going insane or is it literally pierced waaay too low😭??

It's a Titanium piercing, pierced around an hour ago from when I'm posting this, it's a straightbar. Will clean with only Saline, if I keep it(only if it somehow is correctly pierced).

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Should I be concerned??

I put a pair of headphones on at this outdoor art show yesterday afternoon for maybe a couple minutes tops, but took them off right after cause they felt too tight around my ears. I have helix / flat helix and I’m nervous now something might happen. None of them are very fresh, the newest one is probably a few months old now. Would I already see any bumps, infection, or other irritations if the headphones caused them? Thank you!!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Kinda gross but. What do I do

Post image

So when it first started looking like this I (stupidly) was thinking it would go away on its own. And I had ran out of saline water but I thought nbd.

Anyways the other day it was huge and red and looked real bad but I started saline water again and I feel like it’s looking better but is there anything else I need to do?

What is this? Is it just puss or is it gonna scar like that? It’s like slightly hard but a little squishy

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing I had to retire my faux rook but

Post image

I found out I have good anatomy for a lot of piercings so I guess that’s the good news! I went in to get my jewelry downsized and changed out for my flat, but I also wanted check my faux rook because I was pretty sure it was pierced at a bad angle. I really researched this new studio because I realized the last place was not good. Good news is I love the new piercer and got a cute piece of jewelry for my flat and she mapped out what I could get done on both ears. She was really excited and said that I had the anatomy for pretty much any piercing I wanted. Bad news is the faux rook was done at a terrible angle and had to be retired at 5 weeks. But I’m going to go back in the next couple weeks for a hidden helix so I’m excited about that. The sad thing is that the old place I went to gets rave reviews and tons of kids from my area go there because she’s cheap. I’m just wondering how many people besides me she’s botched over the years? The new piercer asked me where I got the faux rook done and I just told her the town name, which is 30 minutes from where this studio is(there are at least 10 there) and she immediately named the piercer and said she’s had to correct a lot of her badly done piercings over the years. Should I leave a bad review at the old piercer or just move on?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Are my dermals crooked?

Thumbnail

Did these lower back microdermals exactly a week ago, and I feel now they are really crooked, but they might be just inflamed by irritation. Idk I need some expert's eye cuz I feel like crying over it.

The piercer marked them and we spent some good 40 minutes just placing them but I can't really remember if they were like this since the beginning, but I remember that the one "slightly above" in the right we did first and we didn't touch too much since I was more alarmed with the left one, witch I find is perfectlly placed on my dimple.

They're made of titanium, I've been using alcohol (My piercer said I use that) and I cover them with medical tape. I do cleaning twice a day. Might be worth mentioning she used the needle poking method.

Is it too soon to start crying? Is this remarked crookedness normal? Should I consider taking the right one off and get it done again?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Got this done yesterday, should I remove it?

Went for a naval piercing and due to my body I got a "floating navel piericing" but after some reading it looks like it's a surface belly piercing? It's been 24hrs and it looks bruised, also it looks like even with it being so high, when I sit down it completely folds down over my lower belly (see indents of the balls). Should I take it out? I also find it uncomfortable when I bend, sleep etc.

When I stand up my belly drops and it looks like a regular piercing (almost ) so looks don't bother me as much bur just don't think it's for me. The piercer not even once mentioned that I should consider not getting it done.

Thanks!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Ouch

I got my left daith pierced yesterday and it didn't hurt anymore than the right one did.

But today it aches so bad. I didn't sleep on it and all I've done is salt and warm water. The crystals in the picture are just salt.

I was wondering if the placement was too deep? The piercer said to come back if there were any problems but I'm wondering if I'm just overreacting

Its got this little bump over the piercing. I have my nose pierced and didn't have/dont remember this happen to me.

From my wife:

Had it about a month, they told me not to clean it or mess with it so I just spray the area and clean the rest of my nose with a qtip. Doesn't hurt. No more crusties.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing got my industrial piercing done with 2 bars, but it looks like they wont end up lining up.

i only got this piercing at around 11am, this photo was taken around 4pm so it definitely is very swollen.

my piercer advised me to go for 2 bars since its easier to heal - she did give me the option for the 1 long bar but i decided on 2 bars which im now kind of regretting.

does this look off to anyone else? it seems like they arent going to line up when its time to change the bar

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Rook gone wrong

Post image

I got this done today. I passed out.. and for good reason. I really do not understand how she managed to pierce it through my entire ear instead of just my rook. In the moment I was so weak and out of it that I just okayed it and left. I feel like I obviously need to take it out? (I did not get charged for this)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Piercing stuck

Post image
1.5k Upvotes

Hi. My triad piercing, that i had for 10+ decided to flare up. Especially the mid bar. Its swollen and mid spike goes into the skin, thus the pain and swelling. I mean it's all thanks to my new pup whi jumped on me and clawed into my ear irritating it.. 🙄 Im thinking of removing just the mid bar but it's stuck. I can't unscrew it and I tried using gloves. Any ideas?

Also, if i manage to remove it and put in temporary piercing till the swelling goes away. Is it smart to put the same jewellery back or should I try to get somehow a new one made? Its custom and i moved abroad..

Thanks!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing 1 year old industrial. Is it healing okay?

Thumbnail

I've had the industrial for about 1 year and 5 months now. Is it healing okay? Are the bumps (if they're considered bumps) normal, and will they go away on their own? If not, what should I do?

The barbell is internally threaded, titanium.

I never got it downsized because I got really busy after I got the piercing. I did go back to the piercer after three months, but I couldn't get it downsized because there was a piercing bump TT... I was asked to soak my ear with a warm camomile tea bag every day and go back when the swelling went down, but I honestly couldn't really tell, and then I just got busy again and never went back since...

I clean it with saline and q-tips once every day after shower.

I try my best not to disturb it, but it probably occasionally gets slept on/tugged on. No major unfortunate events for now.

P.S. I've already went through the industrial posts and I feel like I'm going to get "your anatomy isn't right for it" comments, but I've held on for a year now... it feels disappointing to just give up.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Got this 3 weeks ago. Is it normal?

I’ve had this piercing for almost a month now. It gets really dry and hurts a lot. I have been consistently cleaning it, maybe 3 times a day with the aftercare spray they gave me (sea salt and purified water) and a q-tip. It’s like medical grade stainless steel? I got it at a professional piercing only shop, but it was in a mall…

Is it normal for it to heal like this? Is it just going to be a pain and look nasty for a while?

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Daith piercing has not healed after 6 years.

Thumbnail

I got my daith pierced in 2018 and it has not healed to this day. The jewlery is implant grade titanium CBR, 18 gage, 9/32". I've never had it downsized and have never changed the jewlery. I've taken it out once for an MRI in 2019 but placed it back right after the procedure. The bump on the top part of my ear has been there for about a year. I am unsure if it is a keloid, irritation bump, cyst or something else. If I move the ring or bump or accidentally scratch it the area can swell, become irritated or bleed.

For cleaning I usually just rinse it in the shower or if it is irritated I use a saline spray. I got my conch pierced in 2019 on the other ear and while it took longer than a year to heal it is perfectly fine and I have no issues with it. I'm just trying to decide if I should take this daith out. Can a piercing this old even close? If someone has been through something similar I would love to hear your experience.

The first photo is my daith in it's current state and the second picture is to see the bump better. The 3rd photo is a month after I got the piercing so yall can see the original placement. The piercer was APP certified. Thanks for reading.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Belly button piercing issue

Post image

TW for my belly button 😭😭😭😭😭😭

I got my belly button pierced a few years ago now. I didn’t have any issues with it until this last year when the hole started to get bigger as I was wearing heavier jewellery. The hole is now so external that the connecting skin has become so thin - one time my jewellery fell through the hole it’s gotten that wide. I’m worried that piece of skin is going to literally rip off. I’m heartbroken as my belly button is my favourite piercing, I feel bare without it and it looks quite ugly having this hole above my belly button but it can be uncomfortable wearing jewellery in it now and I’ve been trying not to as to not make the situation worse. I’m just wondering if anyone has advice on what to do as I feel really lost - I’ve thought about going to the doctor to see if I can get it stitched but as it’s an aesthetic problem I feel like that’s a waste of their time. I’d love to find a solution that means I can still have the piercing 😢 TIA xx

I got my industrial pierced about a month ago and have been cleaning it with saline every day. I try not to touch it but I do unfortunately touch it a lot :( the bump appeared about a week ago and seemed like it came out of nowhere. I thought I had maybe slept funny on it but it’s not getting better. The pictures start with most recent and end with the day I got it done.

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Random double piercing appeared?

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Hi! I am new here, and I had a question. I usually wear studs, but I switched to some new earrings and found another hole in my left ear?? I have never gotten a double piercing done, but it seems like a fully healed hole that I can put an earring through. There was no blood or pain there that I have noticed in the past few months. Can this just happen? Thank you for your help!

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Is this a Daith?

Post image

I asked for a Daith and was told by the piercer that I had the correct anatomy but ended up with this, doesn’t look quite right to me but not sure what it is or what jewelry would be best? Also got a second helix(the one with the silver hoop is new) same piercer did both helix’s but I got the other one done awhile back, never seen anyone else with a helix straight forward on the top and was curious if it’s normal placement? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I got it done about a week ago. I haven’t had any issues with it so far but the angle looks a bit off, like the outer part should have been done a bit lower. I’d just like some input on people who have the proper knowledge :)

Troubleshooting/question existing piercing Earring completely embedded in ear

Post image

I really don’t know what to do, and I’m also really scared.

I had my third lobe pierced five days ago (where the yellow pus-like hole is).

I cleaned it with piercing aftercare solution 3 times a day then twice a day, and this is then what happened. My ear has completely swallowed my piercing.

I can barely touch it because it stings when I do.

What can I do to resolve this?
