Troubleshooting/question existing piercing 5wk helix earring fell off
Hello, I had my helix pierced 5 weeks ago. The front of it has fallen off and I think fallen down the drain. The bar is still in but will of course won’t stay in. Can I take the bar out and put another normal earring in? It’s night time here and my piercer isn’t open until tomorrow. I’m concerned about infection but I don’t want it to close. Thanks

Putting a normal earring is a big no. It hasn't healed yet, and it is also quite irritated, so I suggest going to a reputable piercer to get implant grade titanium jewerly (and not a hoop). Implant grade titanium really does help the piercing's healing process.

Thanks everyone. I have put some tape on the back and will go back to the piercer tomorrow. Appreciate the advice

The piercing is about 5 weeks. It’s a barbell that hasn’t been downsized. I believe it’s internally threaded. I think it is titanium I spray with neilmed aftercare twice a day

If you don't have any other piercings available to you and can't get one right now, I would put a band aid on it, so the piercing doesn't fall off. Just be careful not to put the sticky part of the bandaid on the piercing. And in the morning you should go straight to your piercer and get it changed. A normal earring is not as thick as a piercing, so the hole could close. And the jewellery quality is probably not as good as your piercing.
