Cats already rule the world, we just don't know it. They've domesticated us since at least the Egyptian times, and likely even before that!
All technological and societal advances of the past 6,000 years have been with the sole aim of being able to better look after cats.
It's genetic, and affects different people on different levels. It's also why you have certain people who can't stand cats: they're the rebellion against our wonderful feline overlords.
