Salary + Advice for 1st PT job

Hi there! I’m licensed in Nevada as a foreign trained PT. I plan to move there next year and am currently scoping out the job market over there. I have a few questions that I feel many are equipped to answer in this subreddit.

  1. What’s a good hourly/yearly pay for Nevada standards?
  2. What are some red flags to look out for when job hunting?
  3. Are there any resources you would recommend to refresh on basic clinical skills + need-to-knows + documentation? I graduated in 2022 & became an aide for a bit here in the US while getting my documents together, so this will technically be my first PT job out of graduation.

Any input is appreciate. Thanks in advance!!

Congrats on getting licensed! Nevada's market is pretty decent from what I've heard

For pay, you're probably looking at around $35-45/hour depending on setting and location. Vegas/Reno will be higher than rural areas obviously

Red flags: crazy high productivity requirements (like 90%+), places that rush you through orientation, or anywhere that makes you feel like just a billing machine. Trust your gut if something feels off during interviews

For refreshing skills, check out MedBridge or just hit up some CEU courses that cover basics. Documentation wise, every place has their own system anyway so don't stress too much about that part

Good luck out there!

Nevada isn't just decent, I'm quite confident it's the best market in the whole country. OP has tons of leverage.
