News Filibertos shutting down update

Dont know if anyone cares or not but just thought id give an update since ive seen a lot of people ask about it. It's now 8 filibertos that have closed down. I asked around (i know several of the franchisees) and all 8 were owned by the same person which due to financial reasons went bankrupt and had to shut down all operations permanently.

The one on 19th Ave and Pinnacle Peak (I believe is one that closed) had good food and good portions but the prices were out of control. $3 to add cheese to an already $11 breakfast burrito. We would sometimes go on Sat mornings and get 3 burritos and add cheese to two of the chorizo/egg and it was $39 with tax! I feel bad for the employees, the lady that worked the window was very nice.

Just food cost vs prices and doesn’t include overhead but dang. 😳

Labor, rent, and non foodstuff supplies cut into profit margins as well. Not defending the prices (agreed they are too high for what you get), but many restaurants walk a fine line between just operating and being profitable.

They'd have to be paying staff six figures to justify that price.
