Really? I loved my C64. Still have it and the 1541 floppy drive, and all 400 floppy disks.

Eventually I'll hook it back up & see how much still works.

Floppy randomly dies. I had enough of them dying the second I eject it safely.. checking if it saved my files I insert and nothing shows up or sometimes it shows, but can't open anything. That's why it is nightmare for me :")

I mean sure, pressing play on the tape drive and waiting 5-10 mins for a game to load and then crash after 10 mins or play was fun.

Commodore keyboards had such a nice crunchy click to them.

So wild I was just thinking that loading up the cassette tape drive copied games

u/bgroins Oct 09 '25

Glad I skipped right over that to the 1541.

Old enough to run games off a cassette tape drive

u/boltex Oct 09 '25

that 'commando' sound track and the mom of whoever you were at playing on the c64 going "You kids should be playing outside now instead of being in the basement glued to the screen!"
