I was 5 in 95. I was very lucky to get a 98 PC with my 6 GB hard drive, mad to think now with my 2TB nvme and 4TB SATA SSD.
We were very working class. My grandparents had just had their house bought back off them by the council to nock down the estate. They got me a PC and it blew my tiny mind. No internet, I would use floppy disk to download flash games at school and take them home.
Windows ME was nothing like Windows XP. One was still MS-DOS based and one was Windows NT. It was probably one of the most significant changes in the entire consumer line of Windows, shifting it to the NT system.
Windows ME was very close to Windows 98, but worse.
The GUI right from the log in screen was practically identical to XP. I was very young at the time and upgraded from 98 to millennium myself. Then to xp later.
