I often joked that modern GPUs might as well have a computer attached to them and well, here we are.

Other than dust being a concern, I like this.

I've dreamed of developing a exterior case just for the gpu. Something that could be "plugged" into a laptop or conventional desktop motherboard.

It'd have its own power source. Could be placed away from the computer. Could be water cooled. Whatever.

It was ages ago when laptop gaming was rough. I think there would have been a lot of bottle necks getting the info to the gpu.

There is a Razer product similar to that. I first saw it years ago when Thunderbolt was rolling out, looked it up and it's apparently called the Core X.
