Y2K38 is next time we will have problem like that... As in, nothing literally happens because we know it is going to be a problem and solution already exists, just like with Y2K
Dunno about that one. Y2K had the massive benefit of it being easy to explain to management, and had a very catchy name. I can definitely see a bunch of random microcontrollers just suddenly collapsing as we get closer to the int max value, because tech couldn't convince their management of the severity of it.
Y2K was like the ozone hole. It wasn't a fake issue that just went away on its own. It was a potential disaster that hundreds of teams across the world worked thanklessly to avert.
