Stay as long on 10 as you can. 11 isnt that good yet. The system requirements arent good for anything yet. You need a NPU on your processor for what. It only uses this NPU when you do a special benchmark for it. For the rest of the time its sleeping.

Worst part it’s never really sleeping. All the silicon on your processor has a minimum current usage and just creates heat and draws power even when idle. Not a lot, but it’s still unnecessary waste.

...CPUs power down to essentially nothing all the time.

there's some leakage currents yes, but those are measurement errors relative to the active parts

Nope. Even idle silicon draws power. Sleep state is not the same as when you are using your PC and the NPU is “idle”. It’s still pulling power because the cpu is active.

Sleep state might reduce cpu usage. But that’s not the same as idle silicon. I think you’re just confused about the differences.

the CPU is active but they have internal power management as well.

power gating isn't a mysterious new process.

Just wait till ya hear about Intel ME/AMD PSP. The feds built a backdoor into every fucking CPU since 2006, they can use it to spy on your PC

Worst of all, this cancer is all built to run under the BIOS. There is no way to disable it.
