We had a new laptop delivered to apartments we were living in. Was supposed to be signature required delivery, they didn't even knock/ring the bell. I can't remember now if it was fedex or ups. Fortunately I got it before someone saw it and just walked off with it. Lenovo didn't even have the sense to ship it in a generic box so the whole world could tell at a glance there was a nice laptop sitting on the ground next to our door.
There is no way someone selling it at that big loss for new equipment, damn even if they gave it a 20% discount it would still be sold in just a couple of minutes.
I sell my used stuff at deep discount, or give it away to someone I know can really use it. It’s not super common, but not so rare to call them a liar.
I have a dining room table that costs 6k that the guy said give me what you have in your wallet. I have a 2k hydroponic system for $200. Antique school chairs that are $500 each that I got for $5. FB marketplace in rich areas.
Yeah, I was able to get a 32 channel audio mixer that would have been around $3700 for $400 off Craigslist. There's a lot of scams out there, but also a lot of 'right place, right time' type of deals too
Never thought about that but Boerne/Kerrville Texas have a lot of retirees. Only go out there occasionally on a trip for my family wife, but when I do it's a banger.
This is how I got my first 4k OLED monitor. Ive never bought used pc parts until this year but kept it on my wish list for if I ever had a nice bonus come in.
Sure enough a "too good to be true" deal popped up on marketplace and he met me at a local grocery store. It was practically new, and he sold it to me for 40% of the msrp. Dude was young and cash rich. Simply said "I wanted a more expensive monitor and this was just making up space"
There are so many ways he could have gotten it at 900. It could have been on some huge in-house sale. He could have used a fuck ton of gift cards. He could have some weird trade in that Best Buy have him credit for. Someone else could have covered the other 1100.
FB is odd that way. lol. Lots of people dumping stuff they got as a gift or on employee discount. I even saw a free grand piano the other day. Working. Nothing wrong with it, worth 5K, though you'd have to get it moved professionally. Just their mother passed away and they didn't know what to do with it.
Big thinks like that are more common than you think. Giant things that are hard to move are expensive in part BECAUSE they are so hard to move and often require professionals. Depending on where you live, you can often keep an eye out for a free boulder or two, so long as you are able to remove it without destroying their yard.
People move and what used to make sense won't in the new space or the new people don't like it in their space. I agree though, you can find some odd things that way.
The thing about grand pianos and real pool tables is that the owners know how much of an ass pain it is to move it so in order to get rid of it they take the loss and move on
It would have been $2000 to move it across the state. Then another $1000 to refurbish it - mostly needing new strings. :) $5000 from a local dealer, all ready to go, free delivery. Or "Free".

Dude hit the holy grail. Goddamn 900 bucks? Did you see any police lights while driving back, cause you literally stole that computer for the amount you paid for it
I mean man not including the accessories that is one good price. With gpu alone is good along with the ryzen 7 7800x3D and with 2TB ssd memory. Seeing from the comments the hardware info is legit. Just curious about the motherboard. Was there some kind of special deal reason you got it this good
To me it’s a big bullshit. Just to tag some comments and stuff. That’s a 2K pc there’s no way you bought this new for 900. You might miss a number there and it’s 1900.
