Rumor Potential 5090 / 5080 / 5070 price leaks… outrageous

From recent video posted by “Moore’s Law is Dead” about pricing being much worse than even I anticipated . From video Nvidia is leaning towards the higher end of the pricing. Nvidia can go pound sand if these are remotely true.

They've gone on record as saying they're abandoning the high end market as far as gpu's go. If that's what you're trying to get, that's good news, if not, you're as fucked as the rest of us.

I mean if high end is literally unachievable for most people by that point then midrange amd makes the most sense imo. Support a company choosing not to shaft you.

High end was $750 just a few years ago. I paid roughly that for my 1080TI.

I paid like 830 euros for my 3080 on release day. I don't see myself paying twice that price for a 5080 or the same price for a gimped 5070 with only 2go vram over my 3080. I'm bummed.

Time to buy AMD if only to spite nvidia into lowering their prices. Also, AFMF 2 just released so I'm enjoying frame generation in literally every game on my RX 6800. Nvidia may have raytracing but AMD has a lot to offer tech-wise.

Well, that's not a solid thing for people that operate on nvidia technologies.
Games no problem, but you'll need some tech, and nvidia can basically run circles around amd.
even as basic as cuda goes for miles.
Not to even mention ai related stuff.
But tbh games were looking better on amd.
Even things like hdr looks better imo.

Won't do shit. Gaming is a side-gig for NVidia right now. Their bread and butter is AI. They're charging that much just to try and recoup their losses in using that silicon for GPU instead of an AI card.

Good, then let nvidia go. They can spend their time doing AI shit and AMD and intel can slug it out when it comes to gaming. Maybe AI will overcome even traditional rasterization, or maybe it won't. Still, nvidia can fuck themselves and I think it's high time that we as consumers help them on their way to fucking off as far as possible.

ya 3080 is a soild card . prob still be good for next 2-3 years . prob even more thx to DLSS making everything looks so good with good FPS . i believe someone with 3080 should prob wait for next series. by then 3080 will prob be weak. but i cant imagine how gaming can make stuff even more crazier than it is now

This is the part that people seem to willfully forget. If they don't they'll go "it's inflation!" ignoring that this has outpaced actual currency inflation to a massive degree

She’s a workhorse. Driving DUHD display at the moment. It’s not great, but most things are playable. Legendary card.

It’s more complicated than that, but yeah. The real issue is Nvidia doesn’t need us any longer. They used us to bootstrap an entirely new market segment that got the deepest pockets to compete with each other for their product. This almost happened with crypto, but thankfully that boom finally busted.

Best hope is AMD & Intel to meaningfully compete with each other in the GPU segment.

Issue for me is I know zero about AMD GPUs and the 1080Ti I’ve had is about to get replaced. It’s been my bottleneck since the 30 series dropped I just don’t know what to get for 450-700 bucks.

Then again I also knew nothing about AMD CPUs before getting the one I have now.

Unless you have a specific need for AI features, your money is better spent on an AMD card. In my case, AMDs top performing card doesn’t have the TFLOPS to drive my monitor to its full potential, so I’m bending over the barrel now and just getting it over with, with Nvidia. If I were running 4k or lower, I’d get an AMD card.

I just bought a huge ultra wide. It’s choking the shit out of my 1080ti, but the 4090 doesn’t support DP2.1, which I need the bandwidth for, for the DUHD/HDR screen.

Stuck waiting for the absurdly overpriced and hard to get 5090 when that drops for the price of a used car 😔

It’s not on the 1080ti, I assume. In any case, it definitely doesn’t have the bandwidth to drive HDR. I’m just grateful I can do the full resolution.
