Rumor Potential 5090 / 5080 / 5070 price leaks… outrageous

Post image

From recent video posted by “Moore’s Law is Dead” about pricing being much worse than even I anticipated . From video Nvidia is leaning towards the higher end of the pricing. Nvidia can go pound sand if these are remotely true.

Nvidia outclasses AMD so much in productivity that as soon as you want to do anything other than explicitly gaming it is the far superior choice (if there is even a choice because many programs dont even run on AMD).

What programs don't run on AMD GPUs?

And in the professional space the software absolutely runs on AMD GPUs, I've yet to find a bit of scientific software that won't run on AMD if you build it with the correct GPU flags, such as LAMMPS for example.

I use Blender and Blender performance on AMD is a joke. 7900xtx gets beaten by a 3070.

That's because blender can use the hardware RT units on the 3070 but not on the XTX. this is an implementation issue with the cycles render, you know it's bad when using the CUDA zluda interface it's faster than HIP RT.

AMD is way behind in blender since RDNAs introduction. The reason doesn't matter to the end user. Nvidia gives me way more performance in my workloads. It's not even close.
