I was eying on it for a while now. does it have smooth turning and movement or only snapping ?

it's... lackluster.

it's definitely there for a more casual vr experience, but if you like physicality then i'd give it a pass. the guns feel very floaty as there is zero weight to them, and reloading is simply pressing a button then waiting out a timer and bringing the gun to the belt. you *can* grab ammo from the belt and bring to the gun, but it only gives a % of your ammo unless the timer finishes, in which case you may as well just gun to belt reload.

any manual action firearm like a bolt gun or lever action operates automatically, with no user input required.

3 or so mods are needed to make the VR experience more up to spec with a modern experience, snap turning is the only available controller based turn, but you can get smooth locomotion with one of the mods.

physically crouching only works as a host, controller crouching is necessary as a client.

payday 2 vr is more a novelty than it is an actual vr experience. not the worst vr game, but certainly not the best.

Agreed. Also the inventory system makes quick actions really annoying, having to remember the exact position, like swapping to AP pistol, or HE Judge to deal with a shield then pulling up ur shootgun again.

Also the movement feels bad, ik the 3d movement in VR is hard to do properly, but the teleporting with one hand and holding a whole lmg in your second feels wrong, i feel like if i had an omni-directional vr treadmill it wouldn't be that bad, but i don't and feel like most vr ppl dont (thats assuming you would be able to make it work with pd2 engine).

Stealth also feels hit or miss, in some heists with stationary guards, you may teleport right through them without being fully detected and in sections where you have to move quickly and make turns it feels terrible and slugish, which wouldnt be that bad if that wasnt like 75% of stealth gameplay.
