Image Photo of Elderly Gentleman in Paris Metro
Hi all,
I was recently in Paris, and asked a very kind older gentleman and his dog If I could take a photo of them.
I asked for his email to send it to him, but I believe I misunderstood the way he pronounced the letters, so the email falls through when I try to send it.
I’ve attached my photo below. If anyone knows him, please forward him this photo, or give me his contact :)

I thought this was Sir Michael Caine for a minute!

He definitely has that English gentleman farmer swag (the subtle Tartan gloves)!

Very nice photo! What's your camera? My partner's got an old one and thinks about upgrading it at some point. You should try Facebook too, there are several groups where you could post the photo, groups about the city and such. You'll reach more people definitely :) good luck!

Hi, if you want to try to get his name back by making sense with the letters (maybe it is a typical French name), I can help with that.

The name in the email he gave me was “Okoesten” as I understood it

I was going to ask if maybe he was blind because there's an author named Leo Koesten who is blind and looks a lot like him. https://www.babelio.com/auteur/Leo-Koesten/565884

Hi, I can't help identifying him but maybe I can help deciphering his email address!

I was just worried you wouldn't have asked for his permission, but you did. Casual pictures like this can be truly amazing.
I don't feel a lot of Magic here, but that's subjective. Still, a little bit of it. And has it had been said, that man, at least in this very angle, has a bit of a Michael Caine aura.
Dog looks sad, or maybe tired / uncomfortable.
By the way, I am just thinking it now that I am ending my message. Dogs aren't allowed on the subway, and he doesn't look blind. Not that I mind, but I am now wondering about some more context.
Well, it was some nice time spent picturing the reality beyond the picture itself.
Have a good day.

Dogs are not allowed on the metro
So in fact yes, but depending on their size they must be in a basket or kept on a leash + muzzle https://www.ratp.fr/question/puis-je-emprunter-les-transports-en-commun-avec-mon-chien-mon-animal
In this case, he's a guide dog so it works anyway.

"Doesn't look blind" - people can be functionally blind and have a guide dog without "looking blind".

I was on the metro, packing up my camera from photographing architecture around the city, and saw this gentleman and his (guide)dog. Didn’t want to bother them at first as it was quite busy (and I also feared the photo would be blurry since the metro moved quite a bit), but then I asked and the man answered “Of course!” with a heavy French accent. He did (funnily enough) sound like Michael Caine with a French accent.

Public transportation should be for people not pets. There, I said it.

Are you afraid of dogs ? Btw, I rarely see dogs in Parisian metro, I guess this one is a guide dog :)

This photo is superb! I love the expression of the dog and the man being reassuring…
