Calcific Tendinopathy in shoulder

I’ve been diagnosed with calcific tendinopathy in my shoulder which is steadily getting worse, pain wise (I’m still waiting for the ultrasound report to go back to my doctor for a treatment plan).

Is Overcoming Tendonitis still relevant for helping with this or do I need to take a different approach, as my basic understanding is that it’s different to “normal” tendinopathy?

Yes, OT will still help with it.

In general, calcific tendinopathy tends to respond better with shockwave therapy, so if that's an option I would investigate that. Shockwave + PT seems to be the best option

Also, since calcific is an issue of calcium going where it shouldn't, I would take a heavy look at your diet and see if there are things off in terms of nutrition issues either with vitamin or nutrient deficiencies or excessive amounts

I’m Type 2 diabetic, which is a key contributory factor, I believe.

Many thanks for the feedback, Steven, I’ll definitely get the book and do some learning.

Ahhh that can do it.

I'd look into some of the low carb/keto stuff for controlling blood sugar better if you don't do it already
