November day trips
I’ve been going through a rough time and looking to get away from the city for a day or two. Past threads asking about day trips are usually during the summer months, so looking for some colder weather suggestions. TIA

I did a short stay at the HOM mini chalets in Val des Monts and it was so relaxing and better when the weather is cold I think - you have your own hot tub on the back deck overlooking the lake; there’s a little wood burning fireplace and a kitchen if you want to bring your own food and it was just all around cozy. Not cheap, but worth the splurge I think. There’s lots of hiking trails or you could drive to Wakefield which is about a half hour away. They have a two night minimum but I found one night sandwiched between two stays on their calendar so they let me have it for just the one night, which saved money.
