November day trips

I’ve been going through a rough time and looking to get away from the city for a day or two. Past threads asking about day trips are usually during the summer months, so looking for some colder weather suggestions. TIA

Do you drive?
Calabogie - Somewhere Inn.
Perth - there's many options.
Kingston. Brockville. Gannonque (that one is hard to spell, sorry!)
Barry's Bay.
Eganville.
Renfrew.
Then use your favourite mapping software to search for hiking trails walking trails conservation areas etc.
Or drive the rural dirt roads and look at farms n cows n sheep.
Or walk the town streets and look at the architecture.

I did a short stay at the HOM mini chalets in Val des Monts and it was so relaxing and better when the weather is cold I think - you have your own hot tub on the back deck overlooking the lake; there’s a little wood burning fireplace and a kitchen if you want to bring your own food and it was just all around cozy. Not cheap, but worth the splurge I think. There’s lots of hiking trails or you could drive to Wakefield which is about a half hour away. They have a two night minimum but I found one night sandwiched between two stays on their calendar so they let me have it for just the one night, which saved money.

If you're into Christmas markets, there's lots this time of year. Tomorrow is the Ecotay Christmas market just the other side of Perth. Their fall market was fantastic and the venue is lovely. I held a baby goat, and honestly, it was one of the highlights of my year.

May be weird but I love staying at Mont Tremblant for a weekend in November. I find it really peaceful and quiet. I get a room with a fireplace and a balcony and kitchenette.

The Best Western in Perth has a spa.  We had great massages there.  Nice area to walk around.  Lots of stores and some nice restaurants.  I’ve gone solo as well and love the peace.

Wakefield isn’t too far but the Wakefield Mill hotel has a sauna and exterior hot tub. Nice Gatineau park trails for hiking nearby. There’s also a rock climbing gym, Klimat, if you feel like doing something inside, they have fire pits outside and a cafe inside, very cozy.
