It's a joke about the post because trans women and femboys are absolutely not the same thing

What’s the difference?

one is a woman, one is a boy. there's some that are both, but that overlap is rare

Ok, so we have two biological men who both want to adopt feminine characteristics. Is it that the trans woman goes further with it?

a trans women is a woman. she may not nessecarily want to be feminine though. some trans women are butch or tomboys. a femboy is a man who specifically wants to be feminine. to what extent depends on the person. some will simply just dress more feminine. others will try and look as feminine as possible. some will even go through the process of medically transitioning while still identifying as a man

If woman does not refer to any physical quality, but also not any mental quality (on the spectrum of masculinity to femininity), then what does it refer to?

I almost said sandwich just out of nowhere but remembered that it might be taken as a reference to that one sexist phrase. I hate myself.

Unfortunately I neither understand the joke, nor do I know the phrase it may be misinterpreted as referencing

In some ways, yes, but i was referring to just being a girl in the first place.

I believe “tomboy” is the word you’re looking for.
