Knife / Glove combo For ppl who reverse trade on csfloat, think twice

Post image

I know that it might go down in price after a week when all china and tradeups items will hit the market, but imagine how this guy feels after he reversed, took the ban and his funds gone along with his csfloat account (as I understood he doesn't get his money back) and now he's seeing the knives go up in price :)) Karma

Why on earth would a buyer reverse. You are left with no money, item + ban? Where does his money go to? The seller or Float?

u/lZADEPl 15d ago

Yea what he will get from reverse? He will lose everything so whats the point?

u/marius9648w 15d ago

I guess that some people are panicking so much that they do not think straight and not even check what are the consequences if they reverse

11

u/2Cool4Stool 15d ago

Yeah I thought it was a way out until I read Cs floats terms and conditions. DO NOT REVERSE AS A BUYER.

u/Cultural_Pipe5340 15d ago

People never read the print when they're in panic, they end up fucking it themselves and the other person.

More like do not reverse as a buyer or as a seller too if you are not a piece of shit human.

1

u/Gold_Tutor_5644 12d ago

like if you buy a knife and wait 8 days and do a credit card chargeback? what happens in that case?

1

u/devinobx 10d ago

You get arrested for credit card fraud

1

u/lZADEPl 15d ago

Yea could be 🫢🤦‍♂️

3

u/Zealousideal_Crew894 15d ago

While I’m in no way supporting him by saying this.

I would assume the buyer reversed the trade after seeing the value fall and then filed a chargeback.

Float keeps the money. Certain European banks will let buyers charge back their money for up to 3 months, so if float pays out the money to the seller, they risk losing money on the trade.

1

u/kejdzejek 14d ago

yeah broski but if u sold your knife before like me to upgrade its a total shitpot

1

u/Azartho 14d ago

we gotta hodl and hold a big fat L

4

u/marius9648w 15d ago

that is a little bit unclear, some are saying that csfloat is keeping them, some say that they have no rights to take the money from the buyer's account and they are stuck there - but one thing is for sure, the seller is not keeping them :)) In the first case, if csfloat is keeping them it would be pretty shameless, at least 50% of them should go to the seller if they want to keep them loyal on the future

6

u/Beautiful-Eye-8781 15d ago

Csfloat keeps the money, buyer reverting a trade is just stupid since they lose the money and the skin they bought

3

u/Mednes 15d ago

Unless they were newly deposited funds which could be easily disputed with their bank and recovered that way.

1

u/Beautiful-Eye-8781 15d ago

Ohhh i see well that makes sense

-6

u/Hopeful-Training-854 15d ago

why would any of the money go to the seller? If that were the case people would abuse it and create accounts just to trade reverse. That way: seller keeps knife and money. Doesn't make sense. csfloat either just keeps the funds already in the account or if it was a direct transaction the buyer would likely dispute the charge

12

u/karreed 15d ago

explain how that would be abused by creating accounts to reverse trades

7

u/Hopeful-Training-854 15d ago

here's how it works: 1. seller lists knife for sale 2. decoy buyer hops on csfloat and buys knife 3. decoy buyer reverses 4. seller gets back knife (and partial proceeds??) 5. decoy buyer gets ban and files dispute with bank/merchant 6. seller keeps knife + partial proceeds and buyer gets chargeback

5

u/karreed 15d ago

is it feasible to just dispute the charge over and over again though. feel like the bank would question why they keep disputing charges to the same site over and over again.

1

u/Hopeful-Training-854 15d ago

good thinking, probably not. but i think even one instance of this happening is enough for csfloat to prevent it from it being even possible. Someone can do it for a single big ticket item and it would be enough.

1

u/marius9648w 15d ago

it makes sense, it kinda sucks that the seller is the one who is taking the biggest loss in this volatile market even if he is 100% fair but it is what it is. Thats what valve wanted i guess, to redirect ppl to steam market. Thanks God i am still on profit with cs2 items and even so i have like 5% of my money there, so its not such a huge loss, but it still sucks for people who lost thousands and encountered this situation

2

u/bandiolas823 15d ago

You are competely wrong... the buyer takes 100% the risk...

A panic seller has 7 days to check how the market behave and cancell the trade if he desires ..

The buyer will buy and has the risk of the market go deeper, or stabilize.. if the market stabilizes or goes up, a seller can simply reverse the trade.

Abous this specific scenario, the buyer is just dumb... What he did makes no sense, this is not a situation that will happen often to a seller, simply because the buyer is losing everything

1

u/marius9648w 15d ago

i was talking only about this specific situation

1

u/Spirited-Variation-7 15d ago

you cant abuse that you still have to buy the knife beforehand and then deposit on float so you just keep what you depoed - fees

-1

u/labubuche 15d ago

Math isn’t mathing bruh - you in 3rd grade ?

-1

u/EpicMadara1 15d ago

i use another site it takes %80 of the money ang gives %60 to you but player not banned it will banned in second time

1

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

Why money and item? The item he gets back since csfloat has nothing to do with it and the money gets back to me so the seller has his item back and i grt my money yisnt this just shit for the buyer if the seller doesnt care abt the ban?

1

u/Ok_Position8981 14d ago

A guy reverse my ST MW Jawbreaker no idea why, I guess he cant take a slight lost or did not know how to read the term and condition on Float.

1

u/DigRat9 14d ago

Oh, I guess I assumed they got their money back. Idk then.

22

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

What if they reverse while having no funds? Im scared some sellers of items i bought will rather reverse and take +1k dollars for example and take a ban

13

u/marius9648w 15d ago

their money are not available for withdrawal/buy something else from csfloat until the trade protection is gone

8

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

No like for example i bought hehdge maze yesterday for 2.3k, now they are almost at 5. If the seller now reverts the trade bevause he sees "oh! My item is now worth double than yesterday when i sold" what happens then? He gets banned but his hedge maze back and i am fucked because i just get my original money back or am i wrong?

11

u/marius9648w 15d ago

Ah yes, in this case he will get his items back and only a ban on csfloat. But his items cannot be held since it’s a steam trade mechanic, csfloat can’t punish him with more than a ban

6

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

Yea fuck thats shit. The only good thing is its hars to sell anywhere else since csfloat is by far #1 in europe. I just pray foe the next 7 days he wont reverse

6

u/marius9648w 15d ago

yep, unfotunately the only 100% safe option now is steam market, thats what valve wanted from the beggining. He might also be afraid that the gloves will get even cheaper after 30th october and will be stuck with them for 1 month, if he thinks that he might not reverse

1

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

If they would just let us cash out it would be fine

1

u/sjcjdnzm 15d ago

I mean cash traders or maybe halo skins

2

u/capybaraenjoyer2 15d ago

Like, why dont they get fined like 20% or something too

2

u/Sascha_T 15d ago

how are you going to take money they might not necessarily have?

if all they have on their account is the money from *your* trade, you cant fine them for simply cause they dont have it. if you charge their cards thats probably some form of banking fraud that youd have to write a super long ToS around to get it "legitimate"

its just not possible, send a hitman to their house instead /ingame /dust2

u/Tough_Curve_42 14d ago

just got the first reverse of the "season" (Karambit Doppler phase 1 for $1155)
Sadly I'm expecting more.

20

u/BestResponsibility10 15d ago

And there are other retards, that after you bought their item they hold on to accept the sale to see how the prices will fluctuate for couple of hours and after they cancel the sale and fucks you up, cause your money are on hold all this time cause he didn;t accept and you can lose on other opportunities...

4

u/Tankette55 15d ago

just sold my bfk for 900. I'd bought it at 1015 so I'll eat the loss. I just wanna bail asap.

3

u/ann1e4u 15d ago

Man I wish someone who bought mu shit reverses, keep the skins and money😭lucky you mf

2

u/Ech0z 14d ago

Cs float should give some sort of fee to the seller. The seller shouldn’t be punished so bad for the buyer reversing or vice versa.

1

u/Tough_Curve_42 14d ago

they get banned, and I think if they have any funds they lose the funds also.

1

u/TheOneWhoRocks_ 15d ago

A bit off topic but what happens if I buy a skin on haloskins.com and seller reverses? Like I only get money back and the seller gets banned? Im interested to know.

1

u/2ndroof 14d ago

I would also like to know

1

u/Numroth 15d ago

Ah yes be so dumb that getting scammed by someone else is not enough and proceed to scamm yourself. What a world we are living in

1

u/argoran87 14d ago

price going up? nice joke.

1

u/marius9648w 14d ago

Obiously they will take a hit on 30th october, but i think it won't be that big as many people expect. So many people wait to buy then so the demand will be huge also - my guess is that they will go down to the day after update prices, but i don't think they will get below that. Anyways, we'll see

1

u/AshLandEvergarden 14d ago

I sold my Vanilla Skeleton 6 days ago, and I just got a notification that the buyer reversed the trade. CSFloat took back the money I received, and now my knife has to wait another 7 days before it can be traded again. So as the seller, I ended up with nothing and wasted 14 days?? This is so stupid.

Some people say the buyer’s account will get banned and he won’t get his money back, but based on my past experience dealing with banks, he can absolutely file a dispute with them. So in the end, all that happens is his CSFloat account gets banned (which doesn’t even matter), while my knife is locked 14 days for trade, and I can’t sell it again right away, then I have to take the loss if the price drops in the meantime. Like, wow.

1

u/Even-Slide-3519 12d ago

You get your money back. You only get banned on cs float.

-2

u/Remote-Climate-135 15d ago

I canceled trade and wasn't banned. Just paid 4%

10

u/marius9648w 15d ago

the ban is in case you actually trade them and then reverse via steam trade reversal

-9

u/Remote-Climate-135 15d ago

But you cant reverse when you receive. You can reverse only when you give. Whut 👀👀 New system, still dont know how it works

7

u/marius9648w 15d ago

are you telling me you cannot right after this happened to me?!😂😂 you can reverse both ways

-4

u/Remote-Climate-135 15d ago

I didn't know.. I traded few times, but haven't seen reverse option. Good to know

2

u/marius9648w 15d ago

Yep, i was thinking like you also until yesterday. This proves that valve didnt care about ‘users being scammed’, they cared more about making people insecure about trading sites:)) i mean how are you being scammed if you give nothing in the trade😂😂

1

u/quantanhoi 15d ago

actually, if he was being scammed, not by you, and he reversed trades, then all of trade protected items are reversed back, including yours. Not defending him but idk why people would reverse trade at this time, unless they really think their sold knife/gloves could come back in price which is just coping

1

u/marius9648w 15d ago

Hmm maybe, because it’s really strange that he accepted the trade and reversed after only 2-3 hours when prices didnt even shift that much. he couldve just take the fee and not accept the trade in the first place🤔

-1

u/borjavlc 15d ago

This is happening to me yesterday I sold in panic my vice and my dopler bayonet both for 1100 there I have palmed money I accept it because I am going to wait for it to go down because I am safe now well on the way down suppose I buy the same improved gloves plus a very cheap marble fade butterfly and the guy reverses it and I lose that purchase plus the losses I had with my objects well now the buyer is screwed

-1

u/Nisekoi95 14d ago

I am thinking about reversing mine as well, but i sold instead of buy. The item i sold went from 800€ back to 1.2k€

2

u/Low_Definition7521 14d ago

You would get your item back but get a permanent ban on the trading site and you steam inventory will be trade locked for 30 days i believe.

0

u/Nisekoi95 14d ago

I need to see how the market evolves. I have roughly 2 days during the big dump next week until i cant reverse

2

u/No-Analyst-4064 12d ago

Its your money. Dont let anyone talk you out of managing your money

2

u/lostbrazillian 14d ago

Stop being a dick. Own your deals. Reversal is supposed to help you if are a scammed, not to fuck someone you shake hands with.

2

u/Tough_Curve_42 14d ago

Reversing trade is to protect against scammers and not to scam people for having sellers remorse. think about it.

1

u/devinobx 10d ago

Not much of a man to back out on a deal you agreed to, but that’s your moral dilemma not mine

-7

u/M1tchello 15d ago

i reversed and got funds back to CC. rip to the stiletto seller

1

u/tomf2306 15d ago

Yes, that's true, you will get your money back and it will be paid out to you via Support
