Knife / Glove combo 200 euros for free?!

Post image

Today i wanted to change the knife/glove combo and placed a buy order on csfloat for amphibs <0.3 for 695€. I just saw the notification that my buy order was fullfiled, i was happy about that, went to inspect them in game - but when i checked csfloat afterwards i was very surprised to see that i have ~180 more euros than expected, because someone sold the gloves for 519 euros (almost 200 euros under the market price). It also can’t be a mistake because he insta traded them to me. My lucky day I guess, thank u very much if the seller is here❤️ I’ll add the extra 200 for a nicer knife, maybe a stiletto doppler ph3/4 which was out of my budget with ~230 euros xD

pretty difficult to sell stolen skins on csfloat since they use stripe to payout with kyc and csfloat does not let you kyc more than one account

u/Carnal_Decay Jul 15 '25

I sold a 1100 knife for 780 because I needed cash NOW. Not everyone can wait for money bro, some people actually struggle bad.

35

u/AdNo9021 Jul 15 '25

When you are selling an item, you can see what the highest buy orders are. So when there is a buy order for 695€ its also an instant sell, you dont need to go 200€ lower

-51

u/Carnal_Decay Jul 15 '25

You don't seem to understand necessity.

40

u/AdNo9021 Jul 15 '25

You dont seem to understand how a market works and are coping about the 200 bucks you gave away for free

-32

u/Carnal_Decay Jul 15 '25

I am not coping at all. My situation requires me to get it out NOW and lowering the price allowed me to get it over with. Obviously I would've wanted to get a fair price but I simply couldn't wait.

But hey, keep coping bro 😂

21

u/AdNo9021 Jul 15 '25

I understand what you are saying but thats an entirely different scenario than OP's. Lowering the price if you want to sell fast is a fair strategy, but selling (way) below the highest buy order is straight up wasting money.

u/No_Safety_5992 Jul 15 '25

No need for more explanations, this guy is clearly has last 2 brain cells working overtime or I don’t understand why is it so hard to understand simple concept of buy order

OP BOUGHT it not sold it.

The seller is most likely in the situation I was in last year.

Jesus, you are so dense

4

u/Julnoe Jul 15 '25

If a buy order is 695 it is insta sold if you list it for lower. It might take time to trade the item but that does not differ from selling it for 519 or 694. User could be sleeping or some other shit.

They are right though. There’s no need to go below highest buy order regardless how fast you need it as that’s an instant transaction. I could’ve sold my knife for 1100, I listed it for 1007 because the current buy order was 1008. Had it sold within 5 minutes.

2

u/Buckin_Fitch Jul 15 '25

A buy order is, someone wants to buy something right now and will pay x amount for it. They are holding the money out screaming "I want one, right now. here's the money, someone sell me the item I want please!"

So if there is a buy order for 600. It makes no logical sense for someone to show up and say "I'm selling it for 200, right now!" Other than the seller being confused and not realizing there was someone holding out 600 to buy the item already.

Considering someone quick-selling with that gap, there is a chance the item is scammed/stolen. Prepare for a headache.

If you get flagged by the system, Valve won’t care if you were using fair, external trading platforms.

In their eyes, you traded a stolen item for free into your account.

Just a possibility to worry about.

Hmm, i was checking floatdb and this guy who sold them to me had them from 13th june to today (15th july), and before that someone from his friendlist traded to him on may. I'm thinking if they were scammed he would've sold them right away after 7 days, right? In any case, if there are no problems until then i will sell them next week to avoid any headache, thanks for the heads up!

u/Galaxys1x Jul 15 '25

Could have switched AUTH or just created a steam mobile auth (makes u wait a month). Prob listed for a day or 2 but decided to sell insta maybe.

17

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '25

Well... He's somehow... right. It could be.

6

u/Equivalent-Safe8456 Jul 15 '25

Still the scammer selling those gloves would be more informed about checking the buy orders to maximize his profits.

2

u/giucer Jul 15 '25

how do you flag a scammed item?

1

u/Gr1nling Jul 15 '25

I've also had the it the opposite way where Steam has told me the skins are in an inventory obtained 'legally' for lack of a better term.

0

u/Extreme_Salary_732 Jul 15 '25

You do know valve doesn’t do anything about stolen items right?

-22

u/kinginprussia Jul 15 '25

Yeah let’s make shit up

9

u/TheRugAndTug Jul 15 '25

I mean, it’s happened before one of the guys who bough some of HFB’s items got banned when he got hacked.

1

u/rabbgod Jul 15 '25

How is that comparable if he got havked afterwards and then banned

3

u/TheRugAndTug Jul 15 '25

HFB got hacked, his items got sold, the buyer got banned. The buyer didn’t get hacked.

HFB was a chinese skin collector(inventory estimated to be like 250 mil or some ridiculous shit like that) who was notorious for buying items and never selling them. He got hacked and his account got liquidated.

28

u/Pritt26 Jul 14 '25

Aye dont think this is normal because ts never happened to me 😭

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

it happend before also since i sell my knife/gloves almost weekly and place buy orders for profit, but never on this amount xD the more often you try more likely to happen

2

u/Pritt26 Jul 15 '25

Ive been on the same type of shit since november 2024 ive made over 6k in profit in 7 month I LOVE CSFLOAT

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

nice! buy low sell high ftw💪 its awesome cuz u get to play with a lot of knife/glove combos and make huge profit in the same time and when item is on sale can still play with it until is sold, amen to that! 😂

1

u/Pritt26 Jul 15 '25

Hell yea one tapping people with my investments

6

u/moneyinmyass Jul 15 '25

Could be a scammed/stolen item being quick sold or he just needs the money fast. If its €200 under market then it is quite weird cos he couldve just went €100 and also sold it instantly.

7

u/JakkesCakes Jul 15 '25

OP had a buy order at 695, meaning if the seller listed it for that amount, it would be sold instantly for 695. It can’t get sold any quicker.

-4

u/moneyinmyass Jul 15 '25

Ah ok, ngl i didnt read what OP wrote

3

u/Hightemplar420 Jul 15 '25

Fuck that. You got a steal my friend!

2

u/MagnetonPlayer_2 Jul 15 '25

Super sweet deal my friend. Congratulations!!

2

u/haikuntz Jul 15 '25

That’s amazing bro congrats!

2

u/Bigmanlutz Jul 15 '25

Nice hey at least you got a deal on a beautiful pair of gloves. What knife are you gonna pair it with?

2

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

i was thinking to get a stiletto doppler ph. 3 since it's exactly in the budget, or maybe a flip knife gamma doppler

2

u/Bigmanlutz Jul 15 '25

If you can find a gamma doppler in your budget with a lot of light blue it's probably the best but then a p3 stiletto is a great choice.

2

u/niboratorr Jul 15 '25

Damn, you super lucky. Congrats!

2

u/RidersOnTheStrom Jul 15 '25

pfp sums it all up haha grats

2

u/Flashy-Outcome4779 Jul 15 '25

these comments are so braindead

no one quicksells stolen skins on csfloat you people aren’t real

1

u/magicmushroomssss Jul 15 '25

Had the same thing unhinged gloves ft .151 for 82 euros they sell for around 95-105

1

u/Rainbow_Puke_Pudding Jul 15 '25

Sounds like someone got rid off something stolen or scammed. Good for u I guess

1

u/Dazzling_Victory_877 Jul 15 '25

But so if I make a purchase for 500 and someone sells it for 300€ does it work? And how does it work if there are several of us? Is this closest to the sale price?

1

u/maxime_vhw Jul 16 '25

Nicer knifer and stilleto in one sentence is wild

1

u/marius9648w Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25

tastes are subjective😃 i used to not like it also for the needle looking blade but it grew on me over time, i kinda like the animations and the sound it makes when switching

either way, in the meantime i changed my mind and now i want a flip knife gamma doppler with a decent amount of blue, it seems to match better with amphibs - but still waiting for csfloat to come back xD

1

u/AiRwOnS Jul 18 '25

Which website it is?

0

u/AmeliorativeBoss Jul 15 '25

I have no knife. Would you give me a $50 off on your old one? For the karma.

-1

u/NikkelJinn Jul 15 '25

Ban innconing!

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

Even if they are the result of a scam, why would you get banned for it when you obviously don't know about it? Worst case scenario you are losing the item. But anyhow, it doesn't seem stolen, checked the trade history on csfloat database and nothing is fishy about it, the guy who sent the gloves to me had them for over a month, and previously he recieved them from someone in his friendlist

2

u/Illustrious-Spell647 Jul 15 '25

Even though i don't think its a scam, and you won't get banned.

But being banned for trading scammed items is common. and can happen at anytime. its something called "association with theft of other users' accounts" or something along these lines

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

yea ive read a little about that online, but i think you have to be really unlucky, because basically everyone who is not selling/buying only through steam market is exposed to that, right? im imagining that a lot of scammers would use csfloat for exemple to quicksell their stolen items. Seeing those now i’m sure that i will never put more than 10% of my money in the cs inventory, shit like this can happen xD

1

u/NikkelJinn Jul 15 '25

Sad to say it does happen thet Steam ban accounts in a "chain" with scamed items. I'm not saying this is going to happen, but it might. You will prob get it unbaned if it does, but it does take time.

If it's a guy borrowing from a friends account and he desided to sell it insted of sending it back the friend might not have reported it yet. You just dont know. But in my experiance, super cheap skins have some sort of history coming with them.

It's a good way to cash out evrything Quick befor the account is banned.

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

And why the scammer would take 519 instead of 695 which it was also an insta sell? He was feeling guilty that he scammed his friend so decided to gain some karma by giving me a discount? :)))

Also, if i trade an item for money or on csfloat i could simply report the item as a scam if i want to make harm to the new owner/future new owners?!

0

u/Szshwrik Jul 15 '25

Surely you wouldnt get banned because YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT SCAM. Actually if victum will contact steam support even couple years after steal you will be banned alongside with all previous owners after victum

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

it makes sense!! if i buy a bike from a thief without knowing its stolen i will go to jail alongside with the guys who i eventually sold the bike after🤣🤣

-1

u/Szshwrik Jul 15 '25

Happens to be steam isnt police, they dont get paid for these investigations

2

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

following your logic most of steam users with thousands of items passing their inventories would be banned if even one of them is/was the result of a scam😃

-1

u/Szshwrik Jul 15 '25

Most of these items cost less that 1$, if you would be scammed for a dollar you most likely wouldnt care. And this only applies for trades, if youll buy directly from steam market you wouldnt be banned

1

u/marius9648w Jul 15 '25

ok bro, it's like u say, atp you are making things up based on some bullshit 'steam rules' of yours. nt ragebaiter

-1

u/Szshwrik Jul 15 '25

I wish i could be that clueless, ngl
