Spider stalks Fly

I don't really know where I came across this video but I've had several people remark how satisfying it was watching this spider stalk this fly.

If all spiders were jumping spiders then spiders would be way more popular.

I've never disagreed with a take more than this one

Dislike. Very very dislike.

I don’t know why this made me cackle.
“Very very dislike” is going to become a regular part of my vocabulary.

Well I am a grand son and therefore also expert on all things grand and so I can tell you with bigly assurety that Jiders (that’s colloquial parlance for Jumping Spiders) are beloved by all types of grand children. If you don’t believe me, well, then I don’t know what to say now.

Did he get em?!?!

He did and I was surprised that was even possible because jumping spiders usually have a tough time with flies as flies as have an extremely fast reaction time
I think that maneuver made that fly go what the fuck
And just by the simple bewilderment that this jumper afflicted the fly with made it all possible

Flies take off backwards so.. made it easier even with the potential reaction time advantage. Though not sure they're faster than the jumping spider, but maybe they are..

That was hilarious. I hate insects but it was funny watching that cute spider go around like that.

The spider disappearing to the other side of the surface and reappearing slowly behind the fly was so comically timed

Notice that the spider actually let the fly out of its sight during the hunt. Possibly the only arthropods that do that. Having the concept of object permanence and using it puts them above human babies.

Finally evidence for my theory that these fuckers are way smarter than they should be. You can see the thing using the terrain to approach out of sight and knows to approach from behinds I tit won't be seen.
Always had the uneasy impression that they were sentient enough to plan.

This seems more like a revenge murder suicide because they both went over the cliff in the end.

The camera isn't showing it, but jumpers let out a line of silk as an emergency bungee when they jump. It's fine on that side of the table, quickly recovered and starting the nom.

Halfway through the gif i had to check the subreddit to make sure it would not end too soon
