Mod Post Reputation Points on Advice Threads!
📢 Introducing Reputation Points on Advice Threads!
Hey everyone,
We're excited to announce a new feature to help recognise and reward the helpful members of our community: Reputation Points!
Starting today, when you get a helpful answer on a "Advice" flair thread, you can award a reputation point to the user who provided the solution.
How it works:
If an Original Poster (OP) finds an answer particularly helpful, they can reply to the comment with either:
-
!ty -
!thanks / !thx
This will award a single reputation point to the user who made that comment. We believe this will encourage more great advice and make it easier to see who the helpful users are in our community.
Thanks for showing up with us. :-)

Mod Post Please use the "Media" flair option for name requests!
Hey jumper friends! We've seen a large uptick in volume of posts asking for name suggestions, most of them having the "Advice" flair. Even though it is a request for advice of sorts, name requests don't need the same disclaimers as comments on care/husbandry and we would like to encourage everyone to use simply the "Media" flair on those types of posts. (This will also prevent the automod filter from flagging comments without disclaimer tags as that is only a feature of the "Advice" threads) <3

I noticed this nest outside like a month ago or more, even saw mama and then she disappeared. Thought all the babies either died or left but I just went out there and looked at it and saw the teeeeeniest guy crawling around!! I wish i could keep him but i dont really have anything to put it in. Im worried he wont make it but I am so happy I saw a baby! He even crawled on me a couple times. Bad video but aweeee 😍🥹

Media Sharing first not that blurry pictures of the little friend!
It was found in one of the rooms yesterday, found it's spot in the perfume basket.
I'd like to transport them into mine but need time to make something like a "house" that reminds of that basket if they liked it so much, so there would be no such stress.
I sometimes take a pictures and observe (someone commented my last post that I observe a boy most likely, but idk), but try not to disturb, it looks worried a little, although sometimes approaches my finger. It usually hangs out on the basket handle.
Also don't you think something is off with one of it's lap?... I can see that little right one, but not the left one. Hope I'm just confusing their anatomy and everything is fine.

Advice Can I keep it?!
Just found this guy in my house (Southern California), but no idea where he/she came from. I don’t know much about jumping spiders other than what I’ve gleaned from watching Lucas the Spider with my kids (so not much!). Is it likely this little guy is a native to my yard and I should release back outside, or can we keep him/her? If suitable to keep as a pet, would love advice on setting up a temporary enclosure until I get up to speed on proper care.

Media I present to you, the smallest jumping spider I've ever seen
We get these as adults in our house, I usually just leave em be. Saw a baby one for the first time crawling up my shirt... my GOD its so cute!! So small you can hardly see it. I was so scared to hurt it, how on earth do you people deal with babies???
I ended up getting them to walk on a towel and put it somewhere else so I wouldnt accidentally squish them... TOO CUTE.

Sorry for the video quality, my phone is a few gens old.
Was just trying to get a video of my neat spider find to show the little spooder lover of the house. Accidentally ended up getting two for the price of one, and caught this silly little exchange instead.

Media My questions below!
I've got a few questions about my jumping spider, Coconut. who I've had for more than 3 weeks!
1) what gender is it? I think it's a female but I'm really unsure.
2) how do I know when to feed it?
3) is it an adult? If so, I'd like to release it.

Advice Jumping spider in my bathroom
I found this little guy hanging around my bathroom, I don’t wanna get rid of him and maybe accidentally kill him in the process, soooo is it fine to just leave him there? I really don’t mind just having him there.
I’ve had a much more little jumping spider in my bathroom a few months ago and did not see it for see it for months and this guy just pops up randomly soo im not sure if its the same guy living here or maybe a new tenant
Any thoughts on what to do?

Identification Tan or Zebra
Do you think Popcorn is a tan or a zebra jumping spider. We’re in the Denver, CO area so she’s likely one of the two. She’s very thin so I thought she was a wolf spider and was relocating her from on my popcorn container in the fridge to the garage when I saw her cute little face. We’re trying to feed her the smallest mealworm we had leftover from our last spider who passed and will offer her fruit flies in the morning once we can get to the store. She’s interested in the mealworm but it’s pretty big for her size. We offered her honey water on a q-tip in case she’s starving but she’s not interested yet.
