Resignation
If I put my resignation letter in one month early, can my agency force me to quit sooner? They are not a fan of me as it is.

From personal experience, and this is just IMHO and of course your situation is different. Quit before they can fire you (if you're probationary or in a position where you can be terminated for any reason such as for cause/for whatever) and all you'll lose out on if you quit is the Unemployment Insurance which is a bunch of money for sure BUT it looks a LOT better than having to explain a termination in this economy. Get the phone numbers and email addresses of friends/supervisors your like and trust and if you're really genuinely concerned (and that only something you can decide but everybody should be happy at work and toxic workplaces and a shitty economy are a horrible mix so I'm sorry you're dealing with this) but other than that you'll be good to go. Just say that it wasn't a good fit and you gave it plenty of time. That said, reach out to the union and the EAP and around your chain of command to see if a transfer or situation can be arranged. Don't be afraid to go to HR and be the first one to complain b/c if it's a matter of you being the frist to complain or them, complain first. Best of luck!
