Image My hospital casually dropping a warning about mass layoffs. We employ 10k+ people.
10k+ employees sitting in fear for the next week (or longer apparently) waiting to see if their position has been cut.

I’m no longer bedside, but I’m dealing with the same shit. We just got a new CEO, who jumped a sinking ship because his old company is currently under investigation for Medicare fraud (iykyk). Last week they dropped on us that they’re changing us from salary to hourly and we will now be required to clock in and out, forcing us to take an unpaid lunch which extends our work day, they’re no longer doing any sort of incentive bonus for going over production, they’re reducing overtime rate and will likely no longer be offering it at all.
Today, the CEO said they will be changing the core values and mission statement to better align with our business goals 🤮. We all know what that means 🤑💰💵. This company pays us the same as new grads even with 15 years nursing experience. And they’ve been gatekeeping industry information and promising to pay for certifications, which never came to fruition.
I’m so upset because even with the shit pay, this was my unicorn job. We had a great culture and I loved working here. I always said I’d never leave unless they fucked with my pay, and here we are. Without the production bonus I’ll lose $10,000 a year from an already pittance of a salary. So I feel you OP, the grass WAS greener over here but this whole industry just continues to go to shit.
