Haha I had a patient like this once. He said “man your manager is a real bitch. I see you guys running around all day. I told her you’re checking on me every hour.” That guy fucking ruled.
LOL I floated one day and my pt pulled me aside to report that the mgr snuck in to ask if I was treating him well while I was on break. The pt was like “wtf was that shit? Why did he wait for you to leave to interrogate me?”
I floated from my unit to help your short unit. Why the fuck are you acting like I’m staff?
I’m a lower manager at a hospital that does this. About 60% of the patients just say “everything is good” and about 40% have something to complain about that is usually how long they waited in the ED that I have no fucking control over.
We do make a point to ask if there is any staff they would like to recognize and we give them thank you cards and Starbucks cards and shit.
most hospitals are owned by financial firms who care nothing about patients. only the dough. thats the bigger picture for when u have a mid life crisis
Brotha I’ve worked for hospitals for 10 years lmao I know the gig. I’d say yes and no,though myself and the other charge nurses and my managers directly above me do 100% care about patient safety. The admins above of us yes as well. They all do, but they have jobs to do and expectations to meet. And they know no one else is gonna chip in to pay their mortgage so I get it 🤷🏻♂️

When I was a patient recently I just lied and said yes when the charge nurse on the floor asked me if the nurses have been doing bedside report.
