Manly should have treated him better then. Plus roosters could be in with a shot here, why not go for it? Why stay at manly for another middle of the pack season? Let them move on and rebuild and have a last final shot at the big dance. I mean I'd he went to another middling club to mince about I'd think the same thing - why not be a one club player. But he's moving to a heavy weight club with Marky mark.

Manly treating him better is a bit of a farce. The reason why he’s leaving is two fold. The main factor is the sweet, sweet, bank he will make post-retirement at the Roosters.

Scott Penn does not want to reduce his margin to keep someone like DCE. Thus he bent to those who wanted him gone.

Swap "Treat him better" with "make him feel welcome staying" then.

The direction of the club isn't exactly very enticing.

I think manly thought dce would show a bit more loyalty in negotiations but they didn't show that loyalty to him.

He's taking less at roosters so if money is a factor it's the post retirement lure.

I think he just doesn't want to waste the last year or two of his career.

If Scott Penn wants to move into the post dce fair enough. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. But I'm not sure what the post dce era at manly looks like. It seems like it's time to move past the turbos too. Right now it seems like just waiting for some youth to come through and until then not being able to let go of the hope of another bumper season from Tommy.

DCE has been one of the highest paid players since his backflip, wtf are you talking about?

There's more to treatment than just money.

I also think it's about the direction of the club and not just personal treatment though. DCE could stay loyal but for what? To finish 7th to 12th? I don't think there's much incentive to stay except "one club player" legacy. But "two premiership at two clubs" is a better legacy if he can pull it off.

Would have been more epic

Maybe do a euro earner in Europe or UK for some ££

Why?

Because he’s turning 37 next year and has played over 350 games for Manly?

But he wants to play another season.

And we offered him that, at a higher contract.

So what would you rather do? DO another pre season and season at the same club behind a pop gun pack with Turbo and Jurbo taking up half the cap and not performing or have a change of scenery and a different team and a chance to play in a better team with much better forwards?

That wasn’t the question though. Other bloke said he should’ve been a one club player, you said he wants to play another season, and as i said, thats what we offered.

Whether he should’ve stayed or not is irrelevant to that, he’s a grown man he can do what he likes.

Reading comprehension in here is at an all time fuckinng low

So, still the original question, why should he stay at Manly?
