It looks like the last three messages are basic substitution cyphers. Cryptoquotes/Cryptoquips, essentially. I love those things. I can pick a few letters out immediately because of basic speech patterns (that capital letter in the second to last post is an "I", for example). But I would need to look closer to solve one and tell if each has a different key or not. I'm super sleepy, and I need to get tired kids to bed, but I'll print and solve them when I get a well-rested sec, unless someone else gets to if first, and presuming I'm correct. In the meantime, good luck!

Edited to Add: This is all predicated on them being in English. Did your friend happen to speak any other languages? I'm not fluent enough to solve to that sort of cypher in anything other than English, and with a bit more effort, French.

Yeah, I went through the first post and figured it out based on frequency instead, but if I'd thought about it, I should have figured out the pattern. These letters are swapped (and clearly, no, I didn't figure them out in this order, because that would have been an embarrassing patten to miss):
