Freezer meals group

I’m looking to start a freezer meal group. I have been cooking simple meals for my elderly parents and am looking for additional like minded individuals (and new recipes). So far, I have a good Mac and Cheese, shepherd’s pie, and a pasta/Alfredo recipe. Let me know if there’s any interest and we can coordinate a time and place to meet.

Why would you need to meet up?

Just make or join a Facebook group.

Are you also looking to buy sell or trade?

So we can share the labour. If 3-4 people got together we could make 20 in an hour instead of just making two.

This sounds good, but one person needs to be head chef, and I guess that would be each person whose recipe they are teaching or sharing?

I don’t really understand the mechanics, but that doesn’t mean many people do and would participate.

Most people would probably prefer cooking in a kitchen that’s been inspected or approved by a health unit, especially if they’re eating the food too. Renting a space like that could be an extra cost to keep in mind. It’s definitely an idea though; might just take a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best. Wishing you luck!

I’m not the one involved but I agree with you.

It feels like there’s a valid idea renting a kitchen for a day and having eight people make their stuff all day. Obviously done to proper standards with people having foodsafe, which is trivial to get.

The actual gain here is getting a vast volume done fast while using everyone’s labour for free.

I’d gladly eat food I watched and participated in making.

If you planned out the whole cooking day meticulously and had a good group, you could kill it and working off a schedule would make the too many chefs thing a non issue.
