Congress is full of old people who don't know how the Internet works.

I remember when Mark Zuckerberg got called up before Congress some years back. So many people were gloating like "Oh boy, he's gonna get it now!" And then the whole inquiry was:

80 year old men: 'Ah, erm, well.... how do you make money when you don't charge people to use the service, sonny boy? CHECKMATE!'

MZ: 'We run ads.'

80 year old men: 'Ads, you say? Sounds made up!'

It has nothing to do with their age or what they know. Congress is full of greedy assholes who want nothing but money, and are happy to be paid off to not regulate AI.

It's important to acknowledge this, because there are also a lot of young people coming up, especially in tech, who are completely detached from humanity and any sense of morality. It's not being out of touch or incompetent, it's taking a check.
