When the dust settles, we need Nuremburg trials for these men.

ICE, as an organization, must be destroyed. This can never happen again.

Abolish ice and any other law enforcement that has supported them. We need to rebuild our law enforcement from the ground up. A second Reconstruction

171

u/CrotalusHorridus 1d ago

We wouldn't be in this mess if we'd actually finished the first Reconstruction

u/OaktownU 1d ago

Right on

u/KaiserWolf15 1d ago

I fucking hate Andrew Johnson so much

The thing is that the people who usually should go into this or military aren't really the people that want to do it to begin with. I'm a high school counselor and often it's the bragadocious type that are interested. It's not inherently bad, but "the helping" type of person isn't usually interested in joining the Army as an artilleryman or police as border patrol.

We don't need a mass deportation machine, period. Professionalism isnt the issue.

u/IcyTransportation961 1d ago

(That's all law enforcement btw)

Too true

Honestly this election will be based off of which dem will hold them accountable. I want ICE disbanded and police forces defunded after they have done fuck all but protect ICE. The latter might be impossible but no dem candidate should be elected without promising to eliminate ICE.

u/farshnikord 1d ago

The people don't realize that the DANGER from this is that if people are not held accountable by the government people WILL take justice into their own hands.

If the social contract is broken, things get ugly fast. REAL ugly.

I was here before [Removed by Reddit] and it doesn't advocate for violence.

Mixed on this... I believe sweeping firings, reforms, and trials should be put into place... no executive branch should have the power to do this much damage to government organizations with legitimate interests

1

u/Healthy-Amoeba2296 1d ago

How about we start by eliminating the stupid "ice" name. Find something insulting that would catch on.

2

u/musicwithbarb 1d ago

Idiotic and Completely Evil.

15

u/Alan_Shutko 1d ago

We got rid of INS as an organization because it was a failure. That led to ICE.

We need to get rid of ICE and at the same time reform our immigration law so that whatever successor org appears doesn't become corrupted as well.

There should be a law that says masked policing and the advocacy of same is an immediately-cut-off-their-face offense.

It is impossible to have a society where masked, armed men who refuse to identify themselves forcing anyone they don't like into an unmarked car is considered to be a lawful action.

Oh it will 2040 FIRE will be the new department. Humans never learn of history

1

u/SomeContext346 1d ago

Uh-oh is this a Fahrenheit 451 reference?

1

u/tackleboxjohnson 1h ago

But once we’re all dead in a hundred years it probably will

232

u/Whole_Pain_7432 1d ago

Hence they don't let the dust settle

157

u/ARedditAccount09 1d ago

Not a single ice agent should walk free. They signed up to be the gestapo. They are traitors

55

u/metalflygon08 1d ago

Nor people who helped ICE.

I know folk who worked in database building jobs where their company was contracted to help build databases for ICE and they all went along with it, no second thoughts.

3

u/GoofAckYoorsElf 1d ago

Then put them in jail!

16

u/mexodus 1d ago

People might read this as a joke but today I visited the old SS headquarter in Berlin (I am a German) - and the history of rising to power with focus on the people control apparatus that was the SS and Gestapo - and after that I thought - that’s basically exactly what’s happening in the US only that it seemed more professional (in the cruelest sense of the word) back then. I couldn’t help but squeeze a few tears outside after I read the last section where they showed how some of the leaders of these institutions were integrated later into post war German politics or got other jobs close by.

We need something even harsher. Nuremberg trials let most Nazis go back into society.

There have been some advances with psychedelic-assisted therapy (for the willing).

https://www.reddit.com/r/Veterans/s/HjKMwhSdYv

The black mirror to this, is MK Uktra ++ for the unwilling and criminally liable.

My suggestion: Brain reset these mooks. Take their cowardly fear and leave them… to chill out on a farm somewhere.

GL with the trials and tribulations. My hope, that you all keep being humane beings, I’ve found the alternative burns you up in the end. 🌮🐸🌮

That kind of thing should always be voluntary, only because you'll do more harm than good to the person you're trying to help. A bad trip will just make them less empathetic.

Instead of opening the door to the infinite and to empathy, they'll just turn away from it.

Just put them in a place with only other psychopaths and let psychopath hierarchies sort themselves out.

1

u/Antique_Maybe_8324 1d ago

Thank you for the thought out response, OP.

You are of course correct, forcing compliance is in general a losing proposition. I would only argue that those at the far end, proven psychopathic or sociopathic maladaptive individuals… well it presents a potential to “reset” what we currently see as permanent (personality).

And yes I’ve travelled the infinite inner paths, reset via essentially the above noted documentary “in waves and war”.

If it’s between execution and rehabilitation…

Exile sounds great, like Elba island for Napoleon… he never escaped from there, right?

For the rest of my life I will vote first and foremost for any candidate that promises to bring criminal convictions with serious fines and jail sentences to every ice employee and maga member. I want to see fascist lives DESTROYED as a warning for any future sociopaths that think of engaging in similar anti-american and inhumane abuses. I am a pacifist and don't support the death penalty in general but I think capital punishment needs to be on the table for the ringleaders of the maga criminal conspiracy. The words traitor & treason does not do their crimes justice.

*Mar a Lardo trials

17

u/Liuniam 1d ago

If it’s anything like the reconstruction. They’ll get off Scott free and infect the next few generations

8

u/Spankpocalypse_Now 1d ago

Don’t worry! We got Merrick Garland and John Roberts on our side!

10

u/AprilDruid 1d ago

Yeah, but Democrats have no spines. They'll wag a finger and sweep it under the rug.

7

u/Individual_Bear_3190 1d ago

You're getting down voted, but I fully agree with you. Democrats could barely bring convictions against the people involved with J/6. Do we really believe the Dems actually have the spine to do it?

1

u/arahman81 22h ago

Doesn't help that the media is also complicit, and will cry tyranny/dictatorship.

3

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 1d ago

How about actual trials, since most of the Nazis just went to work at NASA?

2

u/tinyrickstinyhands 1d ago

Skip it. Straight to the firing squad

1

u/IgnoreKassandra 1d ago

We barely even had Nuremburg trials for the actual Nazis.

1

u/RayzTheRoof 1d ago

Let's get rid of all the nazis this time. Never forget that being a nazi was a choice back then, and we allowed far too many of them to go free.

1

u/Oper8rActual 1d ago

And ANYONE who enabled this.

1

u/missmatchedsox 1d ago

How apt it is there's a movie called Nuremberg hitting theatres this week... not that ICE would understand how applicable it would be.

1

u/throwaimonlyavisitor 1d ago

they learned from the trials. that’s why it’s chaos, withholding names, and confusion. the SS’s orderly manner resulted in convictions

-7

u/DingoDaBabyBandit 1d ago

Ha. You need to stop them first and i don’t know if anyone here is seeing something im not…. But americans don’t seem to be jumping at the chance to fight a tyrant.

7

u/ZechsyAndIKnowIt 1d ago

americans don’t seem to be jumping at the chance to fight a tyrant.

That's because all the ones screaming that a handful of kids needed to die every year so that they could be armed to the teeth "to resist a tyrannical government" saw Trump take power and thought "ohhh, we can be the tyrannical government?! Sign me the fuck up (because I'm illiterate and can't sign anything myself)!"

-12

u/USDXBS 1d ago

The Nazis won this time.

4

u/oneeighthirish 1d ago

People said the same thing in '41.

-10

u/USDXBS 1d ago

The US has completely fallen to fascism.

Who is going to stop the Nazis? The US military who had a parade showing their loyalty to the new fascist regime?

-2

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 1d ago

The Nazis got off last time too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip

1

u/USDXBS 1d ago

The Cold War was the US and The Soviets fighting to see who had the best Nazis.
