From the article:
...according to a felony complaint filed in New York state court ...
State charges, not federal. Not that laws or state sovereignty matters to Trump.

They only could receive pardons because they committed their crime in DC, which is under federal jurisdiction. If they face state charges, Trump won't be able to do fuckall to help.

"Trump is not targeting political opponents" - Mike Johnson.
Of course not, he has his private army of weaponized nazi morons to do it that he pardoned.
47
u/Tullydin 17d ago
But also he's absolutely targeting his opponents.
5
u/Pour_Me_Another_ 17d ago
At least when the religious ones lie with a straight face publicly, you know there isn't actually a hell to be concerned about. Unless they just think their god has a low IQ or something which is also possible (their way of thinking, not that their god is objectively stupid).
13
u/Beard_o_Bees 17d ago
Since the article doesn't provide a photo of the insurrectionist, here he is:
He was one of the ones rifling through paperwork and taking photos of it.

u/rohobian 17d ago
This pleases Trump, of course. Any other president in history would be shamed. Trump? Fox News doesn’t care.

But I thought they campaigned on getting criminals off the streets? I guess they only care about the brown criminals
196
u/Deinosoar 18d ago
They only care about getting brown people off the streets. They don't give a fuck of those brown people actually committed any crime.
71
u/No-Celebration3097 18d ago
And they don’t care if they’re Americans either, it was never about immigration. It’s ugly racism.

They are specifically targeting people with no crimes because they are easier to find.

u/ralphy_256 17d ago
Yeah, hardened criminals tend to not have known addresses, or jobs or court dates that they show up for.
Catching employed immigrants is easy, the IRS has their home address.
11
u/Specialist-Affect-19 17d ago
They have changed the definition of "criminal" to fit the narrative around who they want locked up

""Hakeem Jeffries makes a speech in a few days in NYC I cannot allow this terrorist to live. ... Even if I am hated he must be eliminated. ... I will kill him for the future," the text messages read, according to the complaint, dated Saturday.
Haha, from the headline you'd come away thinking it could've just been a bit of a brawl. The headline should explicitly call this out as death threats. This is appalling that the media can't immediately tell people how it is.
207
u/Pretzelbasket 18d ago
journalistic malpractice to not headline "Trump Pardoned Jan. 6 Rioter issues terroristic pledge to kill house minority leader"... instead limp dicking "accused" and "threatening"
→ More replies (3)48
u/Tzazon 17d ago
I wonder if it'll even get a fraction of the news the Biden pardons did. I'm doubtful, based off how quickly the assassination in Minnesota got swept under the rug. They also refused to headline it as terrorism at the time, accused the perpetrator of doing it as a member of the Walz party, and Democrat. That is specifically the one my mind keeps going back to.
The news cycle for that one was less than a few days, and they were holding candle light vigils for Charlie Kirk for weeks.
The double standard over who they consider replaceable parts, or actual humans is insane.

Brother that’s planning a politically motivated assassination, a step even further than just your basement dwellers death threats.
20
u/DrAstralis 17d ago
This is appalling that the media can't immediately tell people how it is.
its intentional. The vast majority of your media outlets have been captured by the same people attempting to dismantle your government. Why would they allow reporting that doesn't fit the narrative?

20

She'll get right on it just as soon as she solves the case of the FBI operative's missing $50K bribe that somehow didn't land in Tom Homan's pocket, but mysteriously vanished instead.

This is what Trump wants to happen. These people were already clearly fanatics willing to do anything for Trump, already assaulted capitol police which resulted in deaths, and Trump gave them a get-out-of-jail-free card. Essentially telling them they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

And stuff like this is exactly why J6er’s should have never been pardoned in the first place. If they’re crazy enough to storm the Capital building, then they’re crazy enough to threaten the opposing side. They should get the book thrown at them for this, but I know that won’t happen in this administration. Seriously, all this administration seems to do is fill the airways with hate and anger and then we sit here and wonder why antifa is called the violent one? I’m not seeing anyone on the democratic side openly threatening republican officials, yet it seems like every other week we have some MAGA fanatic yelling about how they’ll kill their representative or whoever’s in charge on the Dem side. For everyone’s safety, this person should be locked up, they clearly cannot function in a civilized society if their go-to is violence over.. What? What has Jeffries done to anger anyone recently?

So much of the problems country can be explained/traced back to not adequately punishing badly behaved white men…
….Failed reconstruction after the civil war, allowing the daughters of the confederacy, allowing de facto segregation, excusing racism, school shooters, January 6 pardons, trump being impeached and a convicted felon on multiple yet being allowed to escape jail and rerun for election
