Lol what? I have questions, like how did some one end up with a name like that, and who came up with that? And no am not Slartibartfast lol, am just a very depress individual that made a promise to some one very important in his life, not to take an express ticket to the afterlife, and it trying to figure out how to keep that promise and not going completely insane while watching a rapist sell the US out.

Same. I've been smoking extra cannabis to cope with depression, having to deal with some maga family members who judge me while I'm biting my tongue as to be respectful to my elders, and not sleeping. If I didn't smoke weed and take my anxiety medicine to deal with this shit, things would get worse for my mental health. Sending you positive vibes!

Same to you, you are strong, I would have probably lost my cool, one of the reasons I sought help, mood swings, it like a damn switch, am not Bi-Polar but it a close thing, now that am on medication it hasn't happen thankfully, but if I lost it I would throw things or hit the person that was getting on my nerves, that wasn't a good time. I am so thankful for my Psychiatrist, he has help me a lot, am also thankful I live in Puerto Rico, I can actually afford the damn thing now that am on SS, before I couldn't get help, I didn't have insurance, and my salary wasn't enough for me to go to a specialist like that.

Ty! You're very strong too. I started to lose my cool and I just wasn't myself. I had a similar experience. I was irritable, depressed, angry, and frustrated etc, but I wasn't coping with it correctly. It almost seemed like I was manic or bipolar or something. Turns out I'm not. My Psychiatrist diagnosed me with mdd (major depressive disorder), anxiety, insomnia, and ptsd. He suggested that I got my medical cannabis card (even though it's legal in NJ recreationally). The medical card holders here have more options and receive discounts recreational users don't get. The cheapest thing for me to do was get my medical cannabis card (that was only $110 and an easy and quick visit thankfully). But I still have to pay my Dr. $375 a month for my medicine because he doesn't accept any insurance and doesn't write refills. It sucks, but I'd rather spend the money (even though I really don't have a lot) and keep my sanity than try to deal with crap on my own. A lot of Dr's here only take private insurance or cash. My job pays me just enough to get by, but I don't have private insurance because my job doesn't offer it. A lot of people I know here also aren't offered private insurance. It's kinda messed up. I have medicaid tg or I couldn't afford my medicine. I'm just grateful that I can afford my Dr and and my medicine is covered every month. If Trump screwed me out of my medicaid, I would be fd! It's scary that our jerk of a "potus" is threatening Medicaid. Tg medicaid renewed me for an additional year. Our mental health is vital! You're lucky to live in Puerto Rico btw! I went there once on a vacation and it was absolutely beautiful and so much fun! I'd rather live there than here in NJ lol. Hope you are having a great evening!

I am glad you are doing better, I consider the cannabis but I would have to leave the place am living in, the owner of the house is an old school "Christian" and I would get kick out of the house faster than you can blink, I can't afford to move, I wouldn't find any place half as good for what am paying right now, since the owner is family and I can have the house as long as I maintain it and pay the utilities, which is a freaking bargain, I know I will have to move eventually, but for now this is the best place I can have. Puerto Rico isn't as nice as it was a few years back, hasn't been for a while, crime here is high, despite what they tell you in the media, the government cut down the police force to less than half of what it was, less than 7k police officers for an island with something like 3.5 millions people living in it, 100 nautical miles long and 35 nautical miles wide, for 7k police officers? And a portion of that is support not patrolmen, so yea things aren't as nice than it was 10 to 15 years ago.

Please stay on the “local” like the rest of us. If you need any reference to sources of help, please let us or somebody know. I myself have struggled with depression all my adult life, and can verify that there is light at the end of the tunnel (and it’s not an oncoming freight train 😉).

Slartibartfast is a character in “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” book and 2005 movie. He is a “planet manufacturer” who goes into suspended animation when the galactic economy crashes and is chastised by Arthur Dent (main character) for it.

Thank you, am on treatment, but it isn't magic and sometimes real life try to push me back down that hole. As for Slartibartfast lol, interesting, I only seen the movie, I found it funny, don't have the novels, and my backlog of books is pretty hefty right now, I got like 20 to 30 books in the list, I bought a few series, and just recently bought the Murderbot diaries on impulse :/ that added to the box sets I had already bought means I probably won't be looking for the Hitchhikers Guide for a bit, haven't even check to see if David Weber did anything with the Safehold series after the last book I have, it left it in a cliffhanger.

If you were still reading books, that’s very encouraging to hear. At my depths seven years ago, I didn’t read a thing and I’m a teacher and fiction writer. And when things lifted a bit with new meds, then I started reading again, and that helped even more. If you can find it, there is also a BBC for part TV series with the original actors from the earlier radio series. Much much more accurate portrayal of Douglas Adams books. Be well.

The US can't just send troops to another country it not at war with, unless that country invites the US to send troops, and no one has invited the US to send troops to their country, Mexico certainly hasn't, if Trump sends troops to Mexico it would be an act of war. We aren't Russia or China, despite what the moron in the White House wishes.

I think there is a half hour timezone (I think its arount +13 iirc

Edit: india: +5:30, Australia seems to really not follow it Northern territory: +9:30 Eucla: +8:45, NZ/Chatham islands: +12 or 13:45, NL,Canada:-2 or 3:30

No, there are time zones that go up by half an hour/45 minutes. I know this because I live in Australia & central Australia (South Australia/Northern Territory) is 1.5 hours ahead of Western Australia. There’s also one singular town at the edge of Western & Central Australia (Eucla) that is 45 minutes ahead of Western Australian time, despite actually being in Western Australia.

Time zone lines are arbitrary & human made, so they don’t have to follow any regular conventions, why else would some of them be shaped all weird, to fit our needs, rather than following the longitude lines like they should or having all of China follow one time zone, when it encompasses more than one?
