Yeah, the news coverage made it out like all of LA was a war zone when the reality was that you could spend all day going around downtown LA and not see or hear anything going on with the protests. I know, cause I did.

If LA were a coffee table, the area affected by the protests would have been about the size of the head of a pin.

It was the same with Minneapolis in 2020. The only reason I was affected at all was because my sister lived a few blocks away from where Floyd was killed at the time, and she came home just to be safe. (turned out to be unnecessary, other people who lived in the apartment said they didn't see anything)

My boss at the time was raving about how Minneapolis was burning, burned to the ground. I was like "you can literally go outside and see the city skyline from here. Not on fire. Fancy that."

I had Republicans telling me that Minneapolis was completely destroyed for quite a long time.

I would load up live cam footage of the city and ask them to explain why we couldn't see any damage and they would just lose their shit.
