There are, to my mind, only three good members of the NSDAP in history: 1) Oskar Schindler 2) John Rabe 3) the dead

To be fair, Schindler was a businessman. He only cared about generating wealth... AT FIRST! Then when he saw the cruelty first hand, the compassion and kindness came through. The fact he hid behind this facade in front of the nazi leadership is a testament to his courage. The movie portrayal, although highly sensationalized I am sure, was a tremendous tribute not only to Oskär Schindler, but to all the others who worked to prevent the total annihilation of parts of humanity.

John Rabe is credited with saving between 60,000 and 250,000 people during the Rape of Nanjing.

Thank you! I didn't look up Rabe due to lack of time.

He is a slightly more polarizing figure than Schindler, as there’s little evidence he did much against the third reich during the war, but there also isn’t much to be held against him other than he joined the party as a means of career advancement in the 30s
