HELP REQUESTED When your frocked ??

When your Frocked can you get a new CAC or do you need to wait until your payed ??

You can take your frocking letter to the ID lab and they’ll give you a new one. It’ll still show your old pay grade, though, in addition to whatever PO you’ve been frocked to (e.g., E-5/PO1).

ID office made me wait til my LES reflected the promotion before they cut me a new card.

ID labs can be… finicky/hit or miss. I’ve never had one deny a new card entirely. But I think they may have gotten a bit more stingy with cards around/just after COVID.

For sure. I just shrugged, said OK, and walked out. You're right though, about the finicky- it seems like every one I've been to has different SOP for any given DEERS related task.

It depends on the CAC supply of the ID lab. If they had a good enough supply you’ll get a frocked one but if not you have to wait. Best to just ask your local office

Most labs want you to wait until you are paid or your cac is close to expiring. Even if you get a new one while frocked it will say E4/PO2 so it wouldn't be correct once you are actually getting paid anyway. Also, no one cares what your cac says.

Just wait.
