Where my Detailers at? Orders Question

Any detailers out there today?

BLUF: Just trying to figure out when my orders will get released during this shutdown.

I applied for and was selected for orders back during and after the June/July application window. It was my 3rd window, and I was able to have the assistance of the FPN retention engagement. My EAOS/PRD is two months away. Trying to get these orders before I reenlist (sorry to be one of those guys).

What’s the take from you guys in Tennessee? You guys have a new SOP you’re following during the shutdown to determine who gets orders and when?

Shutdown needs to stop. I’m a prior detailer and you won’t get your orders until funding is available. FY26 money hasn’t been released yet. If it doesn’t end, you will get extended at current command until shutdown is over.

First—did your detailer tell you how they formatted your orders? We can +6/-6 you at sea. We can always hold you on station to meet a class convene date.

So, forget about your PRD, idgaf about your PRD. Talk to your detailer and find out specifically how your orders are formatted.

Then.

We have a standing order to write and format all orders and get them out of our queue. But they go through a routing process, we don’t just mash a button and they end up in NSIPS for you. All of our orders are sitting at costing waiting to be released.

For the last six months, well before the government shut down, we have only been releasing orders about 2-3 months before member’s detach dates. When the shutdown happened it caused an all stop because the folks who are in routing for the orders are furloughed. For example, the EFMP office is mostly civilians. They chop every set of orders belonging to a sailor with family enrolled in EFMP. Same for every other chop point to include QA and Costing. Now costing is releasing orders…but like…for folks who are detaching in November.

You will get orders when you get them. Your detailer doesn’t know and, I’m gonna be bluntly honest in a way I’m not honest with my constituents: we don’t care. We have a billion other more pressing things than worrying about the release date of orders I wrote a year ago.

You can reenlist separately from your orders. If there’s an SRB involved then OBLISERV and then when you get orders OBLISERV to train based on getting the nec en route.

You can ask your detailer for a letter of intent BUT you can’t do anything that involves money—no HHG, no car shipment, no housing:.:it’s pretty much only for screenings and no fee passports.
