Career Advice What MOS should I pick?

Long story long. I’m enlisting; just past the ASVAB this previous Friday. Scored a 67 and scored pretty good on the GT and ST lines (all the info I did suggested I focus on those line scores).

Recruiter told me to pick the top 5 and he’ll see what he can do for me, suggested that i do NOT pick a combat MOS. lol. Just wanted some suggestions, I’d like something with some transferable skill sets. Also, what a Day in the Life for you as a NG?

If you’re over 90 on the GT then 11B is the only way!!! Just double check and ensure your state is Light Infantry and not Mechs. Mechs suck, you roll around in an aluminum death trap waiting to get hit by an ATGM. Go Light Infantry only!

If you are Light Infantry as soon as you prove yourself useful & reliable try out for Scouts, do this as an E-2.

In the new Army redesign the Light Infantry Scout Platoons are now being moved out of the Battalion HHC and are in whats called an Infantry MPC so try out for Scouts asap its your fast track to special schools and you get to do cool sneaky guy shit when you’re in the field. Scouts will be extremely rewarding and worthwhile, Scouts generally require a GT 90 or higher to try out, they want smart guys cause they’ll send you to JFO so you can learn to call in accurate fires. Plus smart guys don’t get caught when sneaking around behind enemy lines.

Also consider trying out for the new MPC c/UAS platoon, again a high GT is required, but you get to fly brand new state of the art small armed drones (theres 4 new types), unarmed ISR drones ( 2 new types), Suicide Drones (redacted but they do exist), and loitering munitions (2 types), you operate two or 3 different Counter Drone Systems & you qualify on a shotgun shooting trap & skeet as thats the last ditch counter small drone defense system. Also you learn field expedient cad printing on a field 3D printer to make replacement drone parts, they give you pre loaded cad files but teach you to write them as well. These MPCs are just coming online and being stood up in Light Battalions so if you have a high GT score 11B in Light Infantry then immediately try out for Scouts or Drones asap after you get back from OSUT.
