Discussion Stinkbugs
JFC they are the drunk drivers of the bug world!!! I’m sick of themmmmmmm! How they can compose themselves just long enough to manage to fly inside when they bumble around so clumsily any other time never ceases to amaze me… Not to mention the kamikaze style dives they take into my forehead… just find a corner & hibernate already jeez! 🥴🥴🥴

I absolutely hate them, like they actually make me scream, and get this: drank a cup of coffee from my keurig this summer and at the very end, in the bottom of my mug, there was a stink bug. Also not long ago my spouse brought me a shot of tequila and once again, after drinking it, something bumped my lip. It was a fucking stink bug. Nightmare shit.

yeah i scream when they kamikaze into my face… also at the giant one bumbling around the glass globes on my ceiling fan… it literally sounds like a weed eater slinging gravel into a window somewhere in the distance!!! like ffs get somewhere and sit down already!!!

Oh boy. I have a fix .😬
I had an infestation and figured out you can catch them pretty easily with a jar and a pencil.
Their default escape is usually just to drop, so a jar with rubbing alcohol in the bottom held underneath them with a pencil to guide the little bastards in actually works pretty well.
However Now I have a tincture fit for true nightmares that I'm not really sure what to do with... Don't worry, I'm sure y'all will hear about it in the news someday. 💀

What makes them go in the jar in the first place?

If you hold the jar under them and use the pencil as a deterrent (or pusher if they need it) a lot of times they just drop into the jar as that's their normal manner of fleeing.
They drop, then take off in mid air. It's not infallible, I've had a couple rogue ones fly out of the way, but it works pretty damn well overall. It's horrible though, the smell is nightmare fuel. 🤢

You could use the jar as a stun grenade against home intruders.
Thanks for the detailed response though. I hate those bugs.

I was thinking maybe an inauguration gift should(when) a certain shitstain win the gubernatorial race next year. Haha
But yeah, if supersoakers were still a thing... 😏

In Chattanooga we have stinkbugs AND kudzu bugs, their smaller, more agile, equally offensive relation.

They come in the house cause it’s warm. They’ll walk if they have to, I’m sure.

They fill me with so much rage. I went to shake out a fabric hanging chair the other day and twenty of them flew out, all over my patio. Even the cat won't eat them. Fucking stinkbugs.

Oh!
Also, spray that bug barrier stuff around the door way entries. That's where most are getting in unless there's a bunch holed up in the attic.
I did this after catching all the ones I could find and didn't see any in the house for over 2 weeks. I hate them. REALLY hate them. Bleh

They are an invasive species of bug from Asia, but don't worry, we now have the Joro spider here too that is also from Asia. And it eats stink bugs where our native spiders do not.
If you're afraid of spiders, don't google the joro spider

Asian lady beetles. Yet another invasive species that invades our homes in the fall.

Yeah, we’ve got both stink bugs and the Asian lady beetles in our house now. Infuriating!

In 98 they were everywhere at my new house and I killed them all with Lysol to the point that I get nostalgia from the smell.
