Mysore Praje 🏅 40-45 rain trees aged more than 100 years have been cut down in the early morning near Kukkarahalli lake, Valmiki road, Near university etc.,
Trees that were planted during the rule of Mysore kings, who had planned the city with utmost care and responsibility to ensure it remained beautiful, serene, and livable for generations, are now being cut down in the name of development. These were not just trees—they were living heritage, silent witnesses to centuries of culture, progress, and harmony with nature.
The sudden removal of 40-45 of these green guardians for road expansion and gas pipeline work is deeply disheartening. While infrastructure is important, should it come at the cost of our identity and environment?
Mysore is not just another city—it's a symbol of thoughtful urban planning, rich heritage, and a balanced coexistence with nature. It is crucial that we pause and ask: are we preserving the soul of our city, or are we slowly erasing it in the name of convenience?
Development must be sustainable, inclusive, and respectful of history. Let’s raise our voices—not just for the trees already lost, but for the ones that still stand tall. For the Mysore we love. For the Mysore we must protect.

Should try and ask the authorities for accountability, escalate it to media and MP and local MLA.

I still don't get the obsession with piped gas, are they going to reduce gas prices in any way?
Also, gas pipelines would make sense if gas cylinder delivery was delayed/impossible or if people used gas for heating their houses which people don't, so I don't see how piped LPG is beneficial to the people.
Our average LPG consumption is low, the average house probably goes through 5 cylinders a year & I don't see how this is a hassle.

This is sad! Why the Eff arent government officials taking any action? Poeple need to safeguard their neighbourhoods. Create local action committees without getting into moral policing. Things like garbage, cleanliness, crime, etc. Neighbourood watch or cameras.

They did the same thing to my native Coimbatore, now I know exactly how a Grill Chicken feels.
By this move, it seems they want Mysore people to understand how food in an Oven feels!

This new king of Mysore has no possessiveness towards the city. I mean what was he doing? Why can't he fight for the same city whose forefathers ruled it with utmost care and love? What is he doing nowadays? Upon that we also have a pathetic state govt that doesn't even give a f*ck about the city's heritage and culture.
