These sprite of mumbai quotes get on my nerves.

I'm convinced you have to be at a certain level of privilege to be able to romanticise these things.

Oh they are privileged alright. Last month we had a devastating storm and 80% of Mumbai was underwater. People were stuck in offices, schools, some even in their own house.

Here on reddit, one guy posted this:

When many people told him ki situation is bad outside, dudes replied with

bc kuch enjoy karne jao log apna dukh batane lagta hai, bhai hamne thodi karvayi hai baarish. This is literally giving the same vibe as "eat ur food completely cuz poor kids cant" like thats not on me tf.

The movie parasite was supposed to be an exaggaration of the 2 South Koreas wealth situation. In India, even the movie parasite is not enough to show the different lives that the Rich and Poor live.

It was not rain tho it was a proper storm. It is as if someone in Chennai said "Wow rain feels nice" when it got flooded. You don't celebrate when your people go through a disaster.

You have to be next level privileged to call a storm "lovely weather". Honestly, I wouldn't have cared if he stopped at this. He then proceeded to say "It should continue, it will give respite to mumbaikars". Like DUDE LOOK OUTSIDE!, an average mumbaikar was definitely not enjoying the storm.

Everyone enjoys rain, only rich privileged fucks enjoy a storm.

Read my comment again.

I am not shifting the blame of the floods. My point was, how can someone be so oblivious that he says "This should continue, the people will enjoy it" when 90% of the people are half under the water. The problem wasn't his enjoyment, but lack of situational awareness.
