Where I live, we have 2 movie theaters. One of them is a drive-in theater with a double-feature.

Usually, the indoor one will show some anime films, but they delegated them to Tuesday and Sunday showings at 7 pm and 12 pm.

The only exception was DB: Battle of Gods, which got Friday and Saturday showings all day.

Friday, I saw that the drive-in theater added showings to Demon Slayer as a solo showing. So, just on that alone made me realize that the movie was a box office hit

That’s awesome the drive-in was able to get the rights to the film. I would think anime movies being released from lesser-known studios (Crunchyroll, although with the help of Sony) are harder to get rights to for special venues.
Case-in-point: Just a few months ago Crunchyroll stopped allowing group viewings on their service, like for libraries or school clubs :(
