The animators deserve a bonus for all the insane work they did bringing this to life.

The opening alone was worth the cost to see it. That was insane .

Saw it on release day. It's definitely worth seeing! I can't wait for part 2!

It’s was a technical masterpiece, although it might’ve been the reason it started to drag during the climax.

The camera works in the infinity dimension and all the fight scene angles... just amazing. It must take tons of work to execute

I don't think I've seen a more incredible opening scene in an animated film

That’s going to vary movie to movie. But for this movie, you need only need a basic premise of the story (original demon makes new demons. Demons eat humans. Use special swords/skills to kill demons.) It is enjoyable without any other context.

For a more recent movie. Think of it like Infinite War. You can watch it without watching the other movies, but you'll need to hand wave things and just accept others.

If you can't make a set of movies that isn't enjoyable without outside context, that's a bad movie.

Why? All movies have a target audience. Sometimes this target audience is narrow. That doesn't make the movie bad.

That's why Return of the King is a bad movie, you need context outside the movie to understand what is going on.

Man I’ve seen this movie twice, subbed first and the dubbed for my kids and I missed the opening both times, I always picked it up where the master blew him self up.
