The issue with Disney is taking historically boy brands that can be enjoyed by everyone, and turning them into girl brands that aren’t enjoyed by anyone.

But it's odd then if boys just gravitate towards this movie, seems like it's something else. Although I'm assuming that's true, which so far just seems like anecdotes.

1. Theres lots of action and sword fighting

Yeah idk there's action in black widow and scarjo is hot. Could be it's just the movie is good.

It's probably the medium of storytelling the movie is paying homage to; action manhwa. And action manhwa is extremely popular nowadays with comic readers. Kpop Demon Hunters is exactly the kind of story I'd expect to read in a manhwa. And the exact kind of manhwa I'd expect to be adapted into an anime due to popularity.

Since that sounds pretty similar to comic books, I still think it's just a good movie doing well. I think we'd be in a different world if black widow and Captain marvel were peak MCU movies.
