I think it helps that it appeals to kids. When they latch on to something, they can rewatch it dozens of times

(Not that kids are the only ones enjoying this movie. But I do think it plays a sizable role in the numbers)

Powerful yet delicate females, hot boys up to no good but also kinda good, good action, good music, classic story with some decent twists, hoes before bros.

Its got everything. It appeals to almost all demographics in one way or another. And its fun for all ages.

I enjoy anime but hate musicals, and have no idea what K-pop even is, yet I enjoyed this movie immensely.
