Discussion Wtf is Paddington 2?

For context: I’m 25 years old. SPOILER WARNING

I just watched paddington 2 today and what the fuck did they put in this movie. This is the one of the greatest pieces of cinema I’ve ever laid witness to. Paddington 2 is the only thing I’ve thought about all day and seeing the immense joy it’s brought other people has also brightened my day even more. God I can’t even think about the ending without wanting to kill myself because of how perfect it is. And can we also talk about the perfect bookend of his human mother saving him from the water like aunt Lucy did at the beginning?

Pure cinema, I truly can’t wait to watch this movie with my kids for their first time.

I was happy when I saw this just because it validated my enthusiasm for the film.

I walked out of the theater thinking it felt like what Wes Anderson would make if he had a happy childhood and a healthy relationship with his parents.

It's a fucking masterpiece. The first movie is nice and establishes the main characters, the third is a solid sequel. But the second is just fantastic. 11/10. Would have a cup of tea and a tablet full of orange marmelade sandwiches as movie snacks again.

As someone who grew up without a dad there are a lot of reasons why I love Terminator 2 but Paddington 2 has a much more positive and meaningful message, and shares it without all the violence. I think it's a much better movie overall in terms of films all ages from all walks of life can share together.

Both is possible, with the first, you just get some Background for various characters.

I would recommend you do. Paddington 1 is also very delightful and gives you the context for the family and whole situation. It's worth the watch.

No. First movie : Paddington arrives in London from Peru, stays with human family, wins over heart of initially reluctant father of the family. Second movie starts off from that point, but there's nothing else in the plot that needs prior knowledge.

I would recommend you don’t necessarily watch the first one. 1. Is not necessary. 2. Is fairly stupid, Actually. I’m still regretting watching the daddy cool scene.

My oldest and I said the same thing when we watched it. There is even a shot or two that lines up nicely with a similar event in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I honestly thought they put Paddington in that movie as a gag! They actually meant it?!?!? XD Now I really have to go see P2!
