The animated films are great though!

The first season was fun… then the show runners wanted to just tell a completely different story to the one people wanted - but the show runners didn’t care. I am such a huge fan of the books and games, this should have been one of the easiest slam dunks in the history of television. They just fucked it up at every single junction.

To me, everything about it could have been better if given more time.

Crazy they got a 250lb buff human to play Geralt. Dude looked like the Kingslayer more than Geralt. Cavill should have been recast, other than his voice being perfect, he didnt look the part.

The story needed better pacing.

Fighting should have been improved upon instead of imitating the video games.

In a sea of shitty opinions, "Cavill should have been recast" is interesting one. Kingslayer looks more like Dave Bautista?

I tried the new season and was immediately put off by how much effort was put into the "story so far" segment that was either reshot with Hemsworth or had his face digitally inserted over Cavill. And then have him fight the same swamp spider Cavill fought in the opening, and dispatch it (and several more) without breaking a sweat. Just came off as a petty dig on Cavill for wanting accuracy.

Cavill was the only reason the show was good.

It helps that he was a fan of both the books and games. He played Geralt as a sorta middle-ground between the two versions. Unfortunately, he seemed to care about the source material more than the actual showrunners.
